I'm waiting to see 1) How big the world really is, because in a huge world, 20 dragons isn't all that many and 2) In what context the 20 dragons are used. Maybe 4 of them are a cut scene involving the Fade or something. 3) Cameron said something like, "about 20", so there may be 16, or 23 or who knows.

And 4) maybe Cameron can't count, and 5) maybe they are very small dragons, or komodo dragons, and anyone who ever watched the great/late Steve Irwin will testify that you can get like twenty of those bad boys on you at one time, chasing you up a tree.

I was going to say something highly inappropriate to this. Lord gods, he's nicely put together.

I think that's Blackwall right after his joining.

Excellent prompt by http://belthronding.tumblr.com/

But what do you think Cullen does in his free time?

Cullen drawing & sketching on every piece of paper he can get his hands on
Cullen spending time in the library, having a special place for adventure & romance novels
Cullen writing music & singing as he walks the grounds
    Cullen & Leliana sharing songs
Cullen taking care of the Mabari puppy he was given & playing catch with it
Cullen sharing drinks with Blackwall, Cassandra & Iron Bull
Cullen, Varric & Leliana sharing stories about the Warden & Hawke & reminiscing about the past years

I wonder if Cullen would be good at art? I bet he could paint very well.

Cullen only paints in the blood of maleficar. Also, fingerpaint.

For some reason I picture Cullen as being a very determined and careful but highly unskilled painter. :P

The man can't be good at everything, I guess? ;)

Not bad... But a little too much "sculpted" to my taste. I'd like a little more flesh.:)

Just imagine how precious it would be if he had slaved night and day over a piece for the Inquisitor, feeling so proud of himself for all of his hard work as he bashfully presents it to them (and the Inquisitor trying to stifle a smirk, because it looks awful but it warms their heart that Cullen took time out of what probably is an extremely busy schedule to make something for them).

I giggle like a loon just thinking about it.

My Inquisitor would be so pleased that he'd taken the time to do that for her that she would display it proudly and be genuinely excited about the gift. It's the thought that counts, and that would be incredibly sweet! :) She wouldn't care in the slightest about the artistic quality or lack thereof.

That said, I think Cullen would be something of a perfectionist about any sort of work he was doing and would be unlikely to present anyone with a homemade gift that didn't meet his exacting quality standards. :P

Also, someone was asking about the nature of their vows, and indeed, I don't think there's any source that tells us. What I've always found curious, though, is that the Chantry Hierarchy Codex suggests that some Chantry initiates go on to become templars, suggesting that at least some of them take "standard" Chantry vows.

"Only those folk who take vows become initiates. These are men and women in training, whether in academic knowledge or the martial skills of a warrior. All initiates receive an academic education, although only those who seek to become templars learn how to fight in addition."

I hope Cullen wasn't an initiate then. Because I already had Sebastian once, and that was awful

It looks like Alistair had some academic and military training in the monastery, but never took any vows. I hope Cullen was from the same place. Hm, I wonder if they knew each other, they were about the same age. And if Alistair was screaming in the middle of the night for fun, I'm sure Cullen heard it, lol. *mental image of Cullen starting a pillow fight with Alistair to make him shut up, then the abbot comes and puts both in detention*

Auren Lavellan: *holds up the small canvas and frowns* What is it?

Cullen: It's... It's a portrait.

Auren: *still frowning* A portrait? *turns it sideways* Of who?

Cullen: ...Of you.

Auren: *squints* Are you sure?

Cullen: *starting to get annoyed* Quite sure.

My inquisitor doesn't deserve him

Well, I can see Cullen having some drawing skills, and sketching things like these. I think it depends on what did they teach him in the Chantry. But I can totally see a 12 year old Cullen doodling frolicking templars in the margins

Maybe he draws or paints to relieve stress? Reminds me of one of my favorite characters, Gwendal von Voltaire from the anime Kyou Kara Maou. He would knit cute animals whenever he got super stressed (he was adviser to the king); it was pretty hilarious because he was this tall, imposing guy, and he'd just scrunch behind his desk and furiously knit (poorly). lol

Yeah this is how I would see it. I don't think Cullen would be under the illusion that he was some great artist (unless he actually did turn out to be really skilled,) but if he did paint or draw he would do it for relaxation and stress relief and he wouldn't expect anyone else to be impressed with his work or even take an interest.
