Hey everyone! I'm slightly too intoxicated (only had 3 glasses of wine, how pathetic is that?) to go through the 10 or so pages I need to catch up on, so has there been any super duper fantastic news?  ^_^

@Fialka- Unlikely lol. With Traynor's VA we'll probably be hearing how she finds Cullen's "voice so..... attractive. (*giggles)"

No, we were just having fun, chatting about Cullen's potential nicknames, Cullen's potential hobbies, Cullen's potential bedroom adventures, and we also expressed a hope that Cullen will not shower our Inquisitors with flowers and poetry, and will just tear their clothes off instead

Hahaha that all sounds fascinating, I can't believe I went out to dinner and missed talking about everything that is Cullen  <_< Also, I love that song from Mulan so I approve of your gif 100%

So what nicknames have been thrown around? And poetry and flowers? Being showered with them even, meh, I prefer the tearing of the clothes so much more! And I'm sure my inquisitor will as well ;)

LOL I hear ya. For what it's worth, I do see him spending hours a day training... and then even more hours barking at the other soldiers, especially those under his command.

As for the singing, I honestly can only picture religious singing, perhaps under his breath. Or even just humming a tune while polishing his armor. I can't see him all out singing, musical style, and DEFINITELY can't picture him singing to the inquisitor. Now THAT'S sappy!

Reading, ah, well, I think most people read lol Nothing sappy about that.

I guess what I'm saying is the first thing my Inquisitor wants when she gets back from a hard days battle is a bath and a good f*cking... not hand pressed flowers, a room full of damp paintings and a poetry reading, lol!

If he's gonna go all wet lettuce on her then you'll find her at the bar having a drinking contest with Iron Bull and Sera, although to be fair she'd do the drinking contest regardless!

I imagine that Cullen doesn't usually drink, so if someone invites him for a drink, he will end singing an obscene song.  :P

There's bound to be an obscene Fereldan drinking song about Nugs

Reminds me of the one from the Discworld series about the Hedgehog :D I wonder if we could come up with the lyrics between us all?

Various versions of "Lion" for his nickname :) I think it's difficult to nickname him for now, because we know so little of him. We know a lot about his biography, but we never saw him in his off-duty hours. Maybe he pulls a harmonica out of his skirts, and plays for his friends? (who are all dead now, thanks to Uldred) Or maybe he exercises, or maybe he reads a Thedosian equivalent of Jules Verne, or maybe he reads Thedosian equivalent of Playboy.  Or maybe he embroiders in silk, or maybe he just sleeps, because his duty takes 20 hours a day.

I hope Cullen wasn't an initiate then. Because I already had Sebastian once, and that was awful

It looks like Alistair had some academic and military training in the monastery, but never took any vows. I hope Cullen was from the same place. Hm, I wonder if they knew each other, they were about the same age. And if Alistair was screaming in the middle of the night for fun, I'm sure Cullen heard it, lol. *mental image of Cullen starting a pillow fight with Alistair to make him shut up, then the abbot comes and puts both in detention*

This reminds me again of an adorable fic I read about the two of them as templar recruits together. Fledglings by CJK.

In the old thread, we had some discussions about hobbies, but it wasn't flower pressing and knitting. I think there were some silly suggestions like trains. The origami idea cracks me up... but reminds me too much of Blade Runner. :P I do think it would be interesting if he had some kind of hobby like that, sailing, swimming, reading cheesy romance novels,  to give his character a bit more texture. We still really know so little about him personally, beyond his professional devotion to his duty.

I always imagine him being a workaholic and spending too little time on himself. That even if he gets time off work, he goes back to the family farm to work or something similar. It'll be interesting to see how the writers have fleshed out his character. Is he really serious all the time? Or does he have a gooey, quixotic center we just haven't seen yet?

Ooooh sailing

I wonder if part of our interaction with him will help to give him a direction in terms of hobbies, reminding him that there is more to life than his duty.I like encouraging people to branch out :)

Also, I love the word quixotic. It made me silly happy to see it used

In one of my fics I postulated that the templars needed to be good swimmers if they lived in a Tower in the middle of a lake (example 1: Anders). So, I imagined that Cullen was really good at it (assuming that he has one of those longer DAO bodies... I think if his physique is like in DA2, he might do more sinking. :P).

In the 1st DA comic (aka-the-one-where-Greagoir-is-a-dick-who-beats-pregnant-women) templar recruits train by the water and throw each other down into it, lol :) I think swimming is a matter of survival for them

I think Cullen is good at swimming too. Maybe not an Olympic champion, but at least he doesn't drown. I even have a little comic planned about him giving swimming lessons to the Hero of Ferelden, who would just drown like a stone, because I don't think they teach mages to swim.

BTW, in that DA comic I mentioned it looks like mage apprentices were allowed to hang out not only outside the tower, but on the bank. On the other side of the lake! Because that's how Veness escaped. Also, my Amell told Duncan in DAO that apprentices are allowed to walk the ground around the tower. So looks like they weren't locked up all the time. But it contradicts what Finn says. Or maybe they just stopped the exercises, but still allow mages to go outside for botany lessons. Looks like Irving was good at standing his ground.

I like that one. I also read one once where Cullen was a kid/young teen running around with this girl that liked to get them into trouble... turned out she was a mage or something that ended up accidentally killing everyone, LOL!

Aww, poor Cullen. His girls always turn out to be something completely different from what he had expected  I think he needs a dog. Dogs are more predictable.

Wouldn't that just take the cheese for the poor guy?

Not bad... But a little too much "sculpted" to my taste. I'd like a little more flesh. :)

I bit my tongue here lol. Awww this was funny to read. I think the same way. If he's gonna have any skill, talent, whatever, I'd rather him be in the forge hand crafting a weapon. That's the only craft I would want this man doing...shirtless...unrealistic, but I don't care lol
