I'm pretty sure they removed blood magic because it was too difficult to implement it in a way that was meaningful. They couldn't find a way to show the player the consequences of using it without it becoming a chore. Blood magic just working like any other magic (for the player) lead to pro mage posters arguing that it isn't inherently evil, and is just a tool to be used like any other magic, which is the exact opposite message to the one that Bioware has been spreading since day 1.
Not to mention everyone in game completely ignores the player using it, even companions/characters who are vehemently against it's use.
The bolded part is probably the reason.
Honestly, they aren't too worried what forum fanatics say one way or another. BioWare is not "spreading a message." There isn't an agenda. No choice available to the protagonist is inherently good *or* evil, although individual players may consider them to be. And, shockingly enough, not all players will agree about what those choices are.
I guess what I'm saying is the first thing my Inquisitor wants when she gets back from a hard days battle is a bath and a good f*cking... not hand pressed flowers, a room full of damp paintings and a poetry reading, lol!
If he's gonna go all wet lettuce on her then you'll find her at the bar having a drinking contest with Iron Bull and Sera, although to be fair she'd do the drinking contest regardless!
*kicks in door* WHO SAID F*CKING?! ![]()
I doubt Necromancy will have consequences for speccing into it, and it's equally repugnant if not more so than blood magic. In fact, it probably is in the same school.

Same here! I wonder if Varric would react to that? ono

You`re right! He sees first hand what necromancy can do. He may not be too pleased with an inquisitor that uses this kind of magic.

So, what you're saying is not to roll a Qunari necromancer who wants to remove mage supervision.

Or that believes that the Qunari should invade the rest os Thedas... Yep that could be a tiny problem for Varric ![]()

In general necromancy wouldn't bother me because as far as I'm concerned, the dead people aren't using their bodies any more, but bringing back someone's personality, trapping them in a rotting corpse? That's bad times.
That quest with Leandra was absolutely brilliantly written IMHO, that creeping horror as it all comes together, serial killer MO put in beautifully. I want my Inquisitor to play detective a few times ![]()

Somehow necromancery sounds more creepy to me than blood magic. I mean blood magic is basically distributing health among party at least in DA2 as spec XD You as blood mage player aren't torturing anyone (well you stab yourself though) or making nasty experiements. Only thing I can compare Necromancery in DA universe to is Quetin.. yep it sounds very creepy spec.
Yeah, I have heard a dev reference Quentin's acts as necromancy.Somehow necromancery sounds more creepy to me than blood magic. Shouldn't Vivienne be voiced by a French actress, though? (Disclaimer: I've never been able to track down a clip where she can be heard clearly, so please let me know if there is one and she sounds British.)
As for class choice, I normally play warriors in RPGs, but I'll probably always play a mage in DA because I like playing a character that's missing some type of privilege or another and I've never really been able to identify with elves, even DA elves. (Aside from DA2, where I wanted to a. shake it up from my DAO playthrough and b. keep Bethany alive because I heard she was better.) The whole rogue archetype has never been my thing; I'm trying to think of one I've liked in all of fantasy or sci-fi. All the ones I can think of read like The Outrageous Okona from Star Trek to me. Maybe Han Solo, but he was more like a rogue/warrior multiclass, or a warrior who does jobs for rogues. Then again, with the archery thing, DA rogues aren't always what I think of as "rogues", either.
But if I were choosing my class just for the Cullen romance, I'd still go with mage because otherwise I might end up with a niggling feeling that deep down, some part of Cullen never let go of a version of the "mages can never be our friends" thing.
Yes. I really want Cullen to admit that mages are people too, that they can be trusted, and loved, and not just kept close to guard them better. Of course, it may turn out that he's a dick to his mage girlfriend, and he will be like, "When I'm with you, I can be sure you won't blow up any buildings/ do any blood magic/ become an abomination," and then my Quizzy will probably slap him across the face, set his hair on fire, and elope with Dorian to Tevinter
And close your Fade rifts yourself if you are so smart, lol.

Blood magic is used to control minds and create zombies that are still alive and aware of their surroundings, too.
Indeed. Blood magic seems to be intertwined somewhat with necromancy spells. You use blood to call shades from beyond the grave and to bind them to the mortal world.Blood magic is used to control minds and create zombies that are still alive and aware of their surroundings, too.
I think Necromancy (like Orsino and the Magical Journey of the Flesh Golems) are the true evil part of Blood Magic- extra mana, if your own blood or the blood of a willing party member is the source, doesn't seem that evil, just gross and unsanitary.

Welcome back, Eric.

Decent. Pretty sore though. Pain medication is a great thing.
I'm pretty sure the male dwarf from the leaked demo had the American voice.
