Ooh! That's making me paranoid and excited at the same time. I love Freddy Prinze Junior, he seems like a good choice for IB, but I don't want IB to be another fling like with Vega in ME.

He does bring up his 'horniness', iirc. I'm sure he'll be full on romanceable though

In that case, she'll be one I have no reason to, so we'll be fine. But if anyone gets that role, it'll be Cassandra and/or Varric.

 

But I think her crisis point is more likely to hit over Orlais.

They never really give us what we want in marketing. They have seemed to be doing this for some time now...

This is a good point, and it reminds me of the Fenris romance (which is a similar situation), but of course there's the fact that Fenris and Cullen are two very, very different people.

 

I am not sure Fenris truly believes 100% that Hawke will not succumb to demons and betray him, even by the end of the game and if they are in a relationship. With Fenris, though, I'm not so worried for Hawke; I'm more worried for the unfathomably traumatized Fenris. I don't think Fenris would ever harm Hawke; I think he'd be more likely to just disappear. Still, it has the potential to be a forever uneasy relationship, with Hawke constantly trying to reassure Fenris, and Fenris never able to fully relax.

 

With Cullen, I feel we have a similar situation (although what he experienced at the hands of mages in no way compares to what Fenris experienced); however, it's potentially an even more dangerous situation because Cullen's background is not that of a tortured slave but of as a sort of overseer. Well he be able to see his mage lover as an equal, or will he always to some degree be wary around him or her? Does he go to sleep at night wondering if he'll have to one day strike the killing blow against the person he loves? It's quite the disturbing thought, and the unequalness of that pairing is partly why I'm going with a rogue inquisitor for my (hopeful) Cullen romance. I want them to be equals, and to trust and love each other.

 

 

Late, but... 

 

Seeing my Hawke romanced Anders because I liked how possibly unhealthy the relationship could turn out, you can be certain I'll romance Cullen with a mage if there's a potential for it to turn out unequal. I love Cullen, mind, and certainly don't see him as ABUSIVE-- and I love Anders, and don't see him as purposely abusive. I do like roleplay, though. I also like being horribly mean to at least one of my protags. 

 

(Of course, I also have non-mage playthroughs planned for Cullen.)

Also I'm hoping I can romance Cullen with my dwarf Inquisitor.

Watching the video now, and I've got to say that I'm going to have to make one Inquisitor who looks like Cameron Lee. Not to be creepy... although perhaps it is... but because he has been just so absolutely super about getting the word out.

...Great. My Inquisitor is going to see this as a choice between crazypants and crazypants.

 

Ultimately she's going to have to side with mages because she is a mage and she cares about mages, so there would be no in-character justification for her to side with post-Nevarran Accord templars to wipe her people out. She's not going to be happy about it, though, because her own position would be much more middle of the road, supporting a reformed and kinder circle system.

 

I guess it's good that we're getting things Cullen will hate my Inquisitor for out of the way early in the game so there's no anxiety about it?

 

On the plus side, if it is early in the game it can't have a huge plot impact which you pick, because they aren't going to make the entire game take completely different paths based on something you did toward the start. I'm sure it'll have any effect, but it can't be a total game changer, speaking from a practical standpoint.

I'm surprised that they haven't released the interview with Greg yet, we know it's already done.

I wonder who he was talking to when he was talking about two people who needed to work their "poison" out. Solas and Vivienne?
