So, I'm looking forward to learning more about Cullen's place in the Inquisition. Anyone else?

#subjectchange

I am too, I am really curious as to how Cullen will fit into the Inquisition. I am also really really curious as to what his military rank is for some reason lol. Obviously he is very high up, but what is his position? If the military Cullen is leading is structured like the American Military, then I am assuming he is General of the Armies, since this is a very extreme circumstance what with the whole sky ripping open and the demons.

Hmmm... so far in all the trailers we have seen Cass and Varric apparently working together - maybe Varric's willing involvement only comes after the fade rifts begin? Which means that before that, either he's being dragged along against his will, or Cass has been following him (thinking he'll lead her to the Champion, perhaps?)

Curiouser and curiouser...

Well, that is something I'm curious about as well. Is he a part of another organization, meaning does he bring troops from that organization, or is *he* the leader of his own faction of troops?

I could see several different scenarios, and I am really excited to see more about what exactly he's bring to the Inquisition. :)

I do think that's interesting, too (re: Seeker vs Baby Inquisition uniform).  I'm even more curious now, then, *why* Cassandra feels like she needs Varric around. Does she think he didn't tell her everything?

according to what one of the devs said (not sure witch one  and dont quote me on this) is that we dont meet Cass and Varric together we recruit them separately

What it has showed to us in the 1st trailers and magazines I think that was just to showcase some familiar faces that get to join our inquisition

I had no idea Leliana wasn't a Seeker. What she meant to have been when she was off being the 'left hand of the Divine'? Was it just a sort of thing where Justinia was basically keeping herself not linked to whatever she ordered her to do because she's not actually working for her in the traditiomal sense?

I remember that, actually, but also don't remember where from. Hmmm.

Not sure if it's already been said, but I can't wait to see more Cullen. And there better be more skin showing in romance scenes. So sad that in DA2 you see more skin only for the females. D:

Mmm, actually, I'm pretty sure it's the opposite. Several times they've said that Cassandra and Varric have been traveling together. Most recently, Cam said it in the angry joe interview... sadly, angryjoe cut him off before he elaborated.

Leliana being the "Left Hand of the Divine" doesn't necessarily mean she was a Seeker.

Traditionally speaking, the Right hand of something is the righteous, upstanding, correct path.  The Left Hand is traditionally the sneaky, hidden, covert (and sometimes "evil") path.

Which, I think, sums up Cass and Leliana well (except for the evil part. We lefties have always gotten a bad rap.).

It sounds like they'll be going the tasteful nude scene route.  God, i hope so.  I'll take a fully clothed fade-to-black over awkwardly dry-humping in our underwear any day. (Thank god for mods...)

My impression is that she is definitely working for Justinia... but "off the books" in some way. I mean, in both books we meet her, and she's described vaguely as a body guard. Seems that she's just Justinia's henchman, and apparently running around as the Inquisition. Seems that that eye symbol, with and without the sword, could be the new Inquisition's symbol. Mind is currently mushy trying to absorb this notion. Still not sure what to think.

I have to be silly a moment and point out with all these Eye symbols that the Inquisition must be Thedas' answer to the Illuminati. :D

I think the assumption was made because she wears the same uniform as Cassandra at the very end of DA2.

Justinia has both Cass and Lel named as  her hands... left and right, depending on who you talk to. :D

I'm not saying the mage/templar thing isn't important; sure it's important; it's what creates narrative conflict and invites us to create many different characters with differing beliefs. But arguing passionately about whether mages should go free or not is like arguing which side to choose in Skyrim. Which... actually I'm sure people probably do argue passionately about  I hate to say it, but, get a life!

Down with Ulfric, the killer of kings... ;)

Ouch. Thanks a lot.
:(

I don't think anyone here is suggesting that it's wrong to have an opinion, or to debate that opinion. That's the whole reason we're on this forum after all - to talk about the games. I don't think there's even anything wrong with a passionate debate.

The problem comes when the debate becomes aggressive instead of a friendly difference of opinion, or when people's actual feelings get hurt over a fictional subject.

As long as it's all in fun, there's no problem. I just think we do need to keep in perspective that it is a game. :)

I could get into a big ol rant about the fact that there is not enough eye candy for the ladies, but then I'd go on about it all day long. And also,

oh i haven't seen that interview , I just  vaguely remember that someone mentioned either in the old forums or on twitter that we don't get to recruit them together  or something like that... but as i said im not sure and i could be wrong. Either way Cass and Varric have a "history" together  so those 2 are the most familiar with each other then the rest of our companions..

Exactly. I think they first mentioned it during the first Game Informer coverage. Since then, I've been figuring it's because somehow they become buddies after DA2, and that's why they were traveling together. But this never felt quite right. This new piece of info, that they are the opposite of buddies, actually suddenly makes much more sense.

Back to the Cass/Varric traveling/recruitment thing.

My theory is that Varric is being taken to the Divine, via Cassandra.  He is somewhat a prisoner, though not in chains/manacles.  As they approach the temple in Haven, they see all Fade breaking loose, and Cassandra runs on ahead of Varric to do what she can/see whats going on, whilst Varric starts killing demons and the like.  We meet Cassandra when she finds us and puts her sword to our throat.  After blah blah blah, we go out and find Varric still killing stuff, which is when he says, "Watch yourself, its raining demons out here".

It's my theory

Soo... here's the thing. In the DotS Making Of video, they show this image

Seekers.jpg

and one of the artists talks about their motivation for designing the Seeker logo, that it's the all seeing eye of the Chantry, looking for the truth. It was pretty clearly calling this a Seeker symbol.

So.... now just the eye is an Inquisition symbol? Or once the Inquisitor joins the party, he/she gets to add in the sword?? Grrrrr.

:still collating:
