What if Cullen is tainted by Red Lyrium and merely spying on the Inquisition?
This is my headcanon #2. It was #1 until the Cullen As Orlesian Nobility theory was tossed out there haphazardly.
But prior to that, I've convinced myself that he's a red templar, wears the lion mask because he's from the red templar base up in the Emprise du Lion, and we're all screwed (but I'm going to romance him anyway). My theory has caught absolutely no fire whatsoever. *shakes fist in the air* D:
After absorbing the "fledgling Inquisition" idea a bit more, I still just can't see how Cullen can already be a part of their organization before they talk to Varric. Of course, they don't go talk to Varric to find out they are wrong about Meredith, etc; they think they know what happened. But, you'd think a thing like "my boss turned into an abomination, flew, and then turned into stone" would be something you'd mention to the Divine and her secret agents worried about Kirkwall. I stand by my lengthy and annoying arguments over the years that there's just no way they talked to him already, or they talked to him and didn't believe him/didn't ask the right questions. None of that suggests Cullen is bosom companions with Cass and Lel at that point. Hmmm....
For the moment, voting for "recruit Cullen and his faction afterwards."
I'm late on this, but... I think they knew the major events, but didn't blame Meredith for her own actions. Remember how Cass spoke about how Hawke HAD to know the lyrium idol was down there? How it makes so much SENSE that Carvar/Bethany was in the Templars/Circle/Wardens? I think the story they knew had most of the big events keyed down but with Hawke as the big bad behind it all.
So I wouldn't be surprised if they knew some major crap went down with Meredith, but they had her pegged as another victim. Someone Hawke had played or 'made' go mad by giving her the lyrium or something to that affect.
Varric just set them straight, and told 'em Hawke was just a normal dude/dudette that got mixed up in all that crap that went down.
(And for all the dark skinned Hawke's out there, set the record straight that they weren't white. Oops.)
Funny, this business with hiding Cullen's face reminds me how BioWare were playing hide and seek with Anders before DAII release. Everybody knew Anders was in it, people were dying to see him, and BioWare guys were like, "Here's his 2x2 pixels facie, hehehehe." 
Maybe the Lion's head is enchanted and keeps lyrium addling at bay?

I'm dying to see/read/hear everything, but I know the game will be less fun for me if learn everything before I get to play it.
No such luck. They've already confirmed that there won't be any DLC companions this time as the characters are all too woven into the story and environments for a DLC companion to be thrown in, unless he/she was already hidden on the disk, which is something they said they don't want to do.*Crosses fingers for Maevaris as DLC companion*

No, nothing new. We got an interview about Varric, and that's all. We talked a bit about riding the Bull, because it kind of looks like it will be possible, although he's still not confirmed as a LI.
We were trying to guess why/when/how Cullen joins the Inquisition, and I also tried to play Darkspawn Chronicles DLC on nightmare, and Cullen and Wynne killed all my darkspawn, and stopped the Blight
We talked a little about how would we feel if Cullen still wasn't able to trust and love a mage in DAI, but I think we agreed that since we can romance him, then he won't mind a mage.
I also made Cullen in Sims3, and he's a dirty little thing

I'm sorry if I forgot something. I'm afraid I only remember discussions I participated in.
And we also talked a bit about how Cullen is awfully polite and diplomatic. Instead of swearing like normal people he says, "Garbage!"

Like in DA2 where he says that Meredith commends/thanks Hawke for his/her help and quick thinking. You can get Hawke to say something like "Meredith said that? She doesn't strike me as the thanking sort" and Cullen replies with something like "Well, those weren't her precise words, but they still deserve to be said."
I love that part, just because he sorta pauses/stammers as if he's recalling what Meredith actually said, which likely wasn't particular polite, LOL!

I've seen the Q&A for Varric (good ole bookface). Oh my I'm going to be super excited if my Qunari Quizzy gets to ride the bull! Yeah I saw that art, it was amazing. Loved the one with the horse!

I never romanced Vega he wasn't erm..........my Shepard's type lol. His just wasn't the face I was expecting to pop up on my screen. I hope he is romance-able too! I'd If they released that IB was an LI, I'd be 90% as excited as I was when I found out Cullen was one.

No, I gave him these traits that were supposed to make him kind of shy. But after the first kiss he started getting interesting wishes, like to swim naked in public places with his girl, or to have some fun in the elevator. Maybe it's because I made her a great kisser? It's funny, because this is how I imagined Cullen romance might be: it takes a lot of time and effort to start something with him, but after that he just loses the brakes

Lol that sounds like so much fun! So I was just watching the video you posted before of Cullen's dialogue in DA2 and........ I'm not the only one that tried to re-create Cullen in the CC! YES!!!!! Though I got jealous of Merrill/Isabela being my "Cullen look-a-like" Hawke's LI instead of my Fem!Hawke, so I never finished the game with him. Now I sound crazy lololololololololol
