I guess I have to search for a summary of Cole in Asunder (the book is not translated and I just can't read an entire book in English).

... what's left of a young mage boy who was brought to the White Spire, thrown in the dungeon, and forgotten there. Some spirit came to him, answered his cries for help... and somehow... became him. In the book you meet spirit!Cole, who wonders how real he is. As for his body, that's an open question. Could it be the original Cole's body, maintained by the spirit, ala Wynne's spirit? Could be. He looks  a lot like the model they developed of justice!Anders, so it could very well be what happens when a spirit inhabits a living body for way too long.

He looks kind of creepy. But I guess that suits his character.
I wouldn't romance him even if he was the only LI in the game, though, nuh-uh.

Well Asunder spoilers (these are quite major one's about his character, read if you don't mind being spoiled):

Yes it's not his. He first thinks it is his and it's memories are his as well. He comes to realisation in the end of book that he had taken over body of the boy who died, one who he was with when he was dying. So the boys memories aren't his either. It's left unrevealed how much this realisation affects his personality since his personality was similar than the boys who died in Asunder. I wonder if he somehow gets himself back, meaning his own personality and memories between book and game which would mean that he's very different than in book in terms of personality. Well I hope he doesn't change too much.

That first sentence really reminds me of Melisandre from GoT. "The night is dark and full of terrors" (Love Melisandre!)

But it's funny. He's very similar to my Elidri. If he wasn't a demon or a serial killer, they could get along like a house on fire. Shame it's curtains for Cole though. Lacy, gently wafting curtains.

What's more interesting to me is that they're talking about attitudes towards the powerful yet again. I'm starting to wonder if that's going to be a possible theme in the choices we can make as the Inquisitor... and therefore will influence how we get along with each of these followers.

If he wasn't how he was, childlike and all, at least on of my inquisitors would romance him. I like the weird, unorthodox kind of romances.
