Heh, I'm thinking September. Gotta expand on the agent system before you really talk about the specialists!

In that case.....October!

Yea Gaider said he has child-like mentality and he was suprised any would think him as romance option. Well to me it wasn't that clear from the book but it confirms that he's not LI.

Yeah it wasn't clear to me either which is why I wanted him as a romance initially. I don't think anyone here wants to romance a child. Cole fans wanting to romance him are probably headcanoning a more grown-up version (teenage maybe) and personally I think that's OKAY and no reason to look down on people.

Is he actually meant to be a child or just a child like mind?   I'm about halfway through the book and I haven't got the impression he was an actual child.  I know he's a spirit in a mans body but I thought him more like a young adult, but completely innocent.

Childlike mind, not a real child.

Those poor Solas fans. They all seem to be thinking Solas really is the Judas of the companions.

Yep, that's the problem  "He has the mind of a child," said DG, and half the people who read the book went, "Huh?!?! He does??" To be fair, the other half nodded and said they totally saw it.

Surely "half" is a bit of an overstatement.

This is my impression as well. I see him as young adult who just has been alone and suffered lot mentally so he behaves sometimes like child, especially when he's afraid. I saw him mostly as 16-19 years old or so ^^; After the books I think his situation was also changed when he realised he wasn't the boy he though he was.. well from that quote it seems like he still holds same values though :) I guess I'm just trying to say that I find it hard to think what age he really is when we don't even know what he is XD

Um I don't know  I was just trying to show that some was shocked and some weren't. I wasn't really meaning to give statistics since we don't know that.

Yeah I was thinking that same age range, too (while actually reading the book). Asunder spoilers:

So something interesting... looks like the CC can create a young adult! I'm thinking we'll see more variety among the NPCs of Thedas. No more children with creepy grown-up voices  And also I guess if you so wanted, you could create a character around Cole's physical (looking) age.

You're thinking in terms of human development. Cole is not human.

Tbh, I think a lot of the people who were like, 'yeah I knew', weren't being genuine. I definitely didn't get the child vibe from Cole. I got an emo teenager vibe. But then again, I only read a quarter of Asunder. Also, this conversation reminds me this was a thing.

I dont think i stated  that i look down on those who wanted to romance him, they can do whatever they want, its their play-through.... im just paranoid of him on what he might do since according to the book he likes to stab ppl , thats the only thing that im concerned about him, but as i said before i cant judge a book by its cover it might prove me wrong, like for example the thing with Zevran if you didn't had the friendship high enough he will turn against you.

True! I mean... I think  He's a spirit... thing... or maybe there's more to spirits than we've yet to understand. So far we've really only had Justice and Faith. Why do I get the feeling Cole is a different "breed" of spirit, maybe a higher level?

Yup I was thinking this too.

Spoiler

Yeah, I agree (about the end). I guess as for what Cole is and how he's developed, we'll have to wait until the game comes out! His bio isn't offering us any answers.

Also, this conversation reminds me this was a thing.

*snip hilarity*

LOL That's great!! Need a picture of the Golden Girls cast for girls who want to romance Blackwall.

I don't even remember who or what I was responding to so no worries lol I just don't like it when a group of fans are looked down on... sort of the way we were looked down on for so long (and still are by some).

Me either  Tbh I don't get this new fascination with My Little Pony; it was fun when I was 8, but I'm confused as to why it's so popular among adults. Of course I haven't seen the new cartoon; maybe it brings out a person's inner child and it's just as simple as making people feel really happy when they watch it. Who knows.

I watched a few episodes with my niece. I thought the characters were surprisingly good role models for girls. It's a bit too cutesy for me, but I can see why people of all ages like it.

Whoa, you go to work and do your thing and BW slyly slips in Cole.

He looks sad and lonely, wish I hadn't read Asunder because I would have liked to have met him without knowing anything about his past. He also reminds me of a far less healthy version of my son (12 y/o), especially the lank preteen hair, so any thought of romance is just nope. To me he came across as 12 or 13 years old in the book. A damaged preteen at that - he was similar in many ways to the young at-risk teens I briefly worked with in an inner city library last year. Just fragile.

I kind of assumed that at that "self realization" part, he returned to the Fade. Which makes me wonder (because apparently wild speculation is my thing today. :P ) if he's not responsible for tossing us back *out* of the Fade after big explosion sucks us into it.

Now I wonder if Cole doesn't just toss us out of the Fade, but hitches a ride back with us to the physical realm.
