I'd love for her to be the reason for everything!!
We may not have a Maker, but heck if Flemeth isn't omnipotent enough for me. ![]()

Wheeey, I had a DAI dream, albeit only briefly.
I dreamt that the Inquisitor, Varric, Dorian and Cullen had all spent days traveling through the deep roads. Upon getting out the 4 of them all went to relax in a tavern where they were smoking and socialising. Cullen got on really well with Dorian and it was just really nice to see him out of professional mode, lol!
Listen lady, you need to start sharing these Dragon Age dreams, cause I'm getting sh*t all here. Last night I dreamt about going to work...then had to go to work
Oh no, I didn't mean like that lol
I just really like his game reviews, usually pretty spot on.
Cam is a cool dude too, gotta love that accent! He used to be really interactive with a lot of us on the Cullen thread here, I miss those daysI'm really gonna miss the whole build up to the game coming out too, the anticipation and reveals are really almost half the fun.
If it helps, a lot of us believe that he's been slowing weaning himself off of lyrium. That, combined with the stress and nightmares, could explain his weary appearance in DA2.
I've recently come to think he's probably been working with the Inquisition for a while now, too. According to the wiki on the Seekers of Truth, the Seekers and Templars use to work together as the former Inquisition. The elite Templars were chosen as Seekers (and I'm sure we would agree that Cullen is elite)...so if the Inquisition is rebuilding the former order, it would make sense, yeah?
Red lyrium might do the trick, though. . .

I think the only problem with this theory is that if it posits that Cullen was working with the Seekers while he was in Kirkwall, Cassandra/Justinia would have known about Meredith's batshite insanity and Elthina's ineptitude long before any of that craziness went down.
But I think it will be really neat, regardless, to see Cullen elevated to the point (whether he was before or not, just to be able to see it) where Cassandra, the right hand of the Divine is nodding her approval and telling him "Well done, Ser Cullen." ![]()
THANK YOU!!! ;D Yours is pretty fantastic too, if I may say.
To help things get back on topic though, even if it's still sticking with #strongopinions, I'm not really sure I feel comfortable with "drug addict" being a criticism of Cullen's character.
He was rather coerced into using lyrium in the first place, and we don't know the story behind his joining the Order to begin with. He could, like Alistair, have been practically given to them as an orphan and had little say in the matter. At best, you could still argue that he either was semi-brainwashed into using lyrium or didn't fully understand the ramifications of that decision.
And even if he had begun by using lyrium, or any drug, recreationally, I don't think it would be fair to hold his addiction/disease against him.
It's an interesting topic to me, because a lot of fans who are very anti-Templar are very pro-blood magic, but the writers have said that blood magic is addictive too. Though blood mage fans may not normally cite "addiction" as a reason to criticize templars as individuals, I don't actually know.
You guys have probably discussed this to death, but I'm curious: what do you think/hope Cullen will do to address his addiction in DA:I? Or Cassandra for that matter?
If you're given the choice between allowing him to suffer deeply without lyrium in the game or continue to let him use it, what will you choose?
Writers really said that? Because I totally got that impression. That when you start - you can't stop, and it's almost impossible to quit blood magic. And I understand. It's very powerful, and it can keep you off lyrium. It's also something a mage will most certainly use if cornered and out of other options, and Cullen reminds Meredith about it when she wants to kill those mages who surrender.
We heard that lyrium addiction will be somehow addressed in DAI (it was in one of E3 interviews, I think). I hope we will have an option to help Cass and Cullen with it somehow. If I can, I will steal Andraste's ashes. All of it!

This is cool. I hope we get to see Cullen actually have friends in DA:I. Seems like he's been a pretty lonely guy. :/
Not with the Order, apparently. And not Red. He may or may not be with the Chantry, though it seems probable.
I prefer Nick Sadler, such a cool guy! Very intelligent, very respectful and an all round good sport.
He seems really nice! I was able to watch a bit of that last podcast you guys did with him in there. I was tempted to ask him some questions about the game industry and such, but got nervous and chickened out lol
Sorry, I'm behind, but I thought this was funny!
Haha! Mine would give him an affectionate smirk and say "have at it, darling," then stand in the doorway as he vanquishes foes with her fire raining down around him. (And other glorious cliches!)
*snip*
Tis denying me of the right to 'like' what you've said. But I do like it. Nay, I love it. ![]()
Despite being quite the capable little rogue, my Quizzy would gladly like Cullen take charge and let her have a break from all the monotonous person-slaying. And yes, she'd swoon. She's the leader of the Inquisition, for maker's sake, she doesn't have to prove herself by fighting every single battle and thinking it's insulting for someone to insist on her sitting one out. ![]()
It came across as a harsh criticism of others' choice of LI (flawed characters), which is what you were speaking out against.
Just bringing it to your attention.
The intent there was criticism of the character but not of the romance, if that makes any sense.
I think the only problem with this theory is that if it posits that Cullen was working with the Seekers while he was in Kirkwall, Cassandra/Justinia would have known about Meredith's batshite insanity and Elthina's ineptitude long before any of that craziness went down.

So... how will Cullen deal with the fiery annihilation of the Chantry's leadership, including most probably the Divine, do you think?

Yes, DG said it in an online interview.... ugh, I'd have to hunt down my old links or harass R2's Muse for the correct source. I can pm it your way when I get to it if you're really interested. ![]()
Which trailer has the best views of Cullen?
Which trailer has the best views of Cullen?
The only one you see his face (uncovered) is the one with the female Inquisitor narrating here...
He's at the end alllll the way in the back, un-moving like a creepy handsome statue
Edit: Whoops, forgot about the war room shot in the beginning. It's a bit hard to see him cause of the lighting though.

Funnily enough,I always had the feeling that Cullen and Dorian might actually get along pretty well once they get to know each other,if Dorian's description from the survey is 100% accurate then he sounds like an honourable, nice guy who wants to see Tevinter becoming a better place.I think Cullen might appreciate his intentions, despite him being a magister etc.

I confess, I'd be disappointed if Dorian wasn't a blood mage.

It does make sense, but I think it's hard to see the difference when the idea is kind of "what kind of person would romance... (x)." you know? Still, the clarification is appreciated. ![]()
I hope Justinia makes it, I really do. For one thing, we never got to really experience her, and anyone who doesn't read the codex entries or the novels or didn't play Leliana's Song isn't going to understand her at all. I hope we get at least a little Justinia, if for no other reason than to show that the Chantry isn't all Lamberts and Merediths any more than all mages are Uldreds and Danariuses. :/
I imagine Cullen completely broken. Honestly, I have a hard time imagining him recovering from that, so I don't see him functioning well at all unless someone like Cassandra or Leliana is there to say "WE NEED YOU."
I confess, I'd be disappointed if Dorian wasn't a blood mage.
Well,he sounds pretty fed-up with they way things in Tevinter are, which kind of gives me the impression that subjects like blood magic and slavery, are also among these things that drove him away a put him in this mission to rid his country of corruption.

Cullen comes to Quizzy's room for a love scene, but suddenly her room turns into a kitchen, and she's acting like she's running a culinary show (Cullenary show?). Anyway, she runs all over the kitchen in her white cap, and she tells how much butter you need to make awesome cookies, and then she asks Cullen to taste stuff for her, and he gradually becomes really annoyed, because apparently he was in the mood to bang. So at some point he just grabs her face and kisses it to make her shut up about how many cups of sugar she needs. Then he lets her go, and probably thinks, "There, we can go back to romantic stuff now!" But she doesn't stop! Now she wants to make ice cream! And she totally ignored his kiss. That he can't tolerate, so he uses his templar power to extinguish the fire in the oven, and he just grabs her, throws across his shoulder, and goes to his room, and that's when the dream ends. ![]()

Is that really a problem? Lambert's both dead and only appeared in a book with Justinia in it, and Meredith was countered by... well, Cullen. Who gets to be an actually good example in this game.
So would Cullen do his own Sebastian routine at that?

Ugh. Blood magic isn't inherently corrupt, anyone who spoke to Merrill for thirty seconds would know that; I do hope Bioware didn't go that route.
Aw, you should have asked a question... if only to stop Scottish hogging the entire podcast for more than 2 minutes!
LOL! He is a very chatty guy, that's for sure ![]()
I'd have to better formulate my questions first, it's all a big jumbled mess in my head right now with all the jumping around and self-teaching/experimenting I do with diff programs like Maya and the Unreal engine. I've been trying to make a fun little 2D scroller/platformer game for a few years now that I still have to learn how to use Game Maker for. I'd hate to come off like a lunatic with nonsensical questions aimed at a guy working for my all time fav game developers!

Never really said that it was inherently corrupt,If it falls in the wrong hands though(see powerhungry Tevinter magisters)it can be very destructive/corruptive.
Anyway this is a rather long discussion and this isn't the right thread to discuss it.
Naaaaaw, he wouldn't have minded!LOL! He is a very chatty guy, that's for sure
