I always thought that if there is a Judas in DAI, that person has to be someone unexpected.  -_-

If there is a Judas, though, I don't think it'll be an optional recruit.

I think it was said they were all optional, (more or less). I think Solas is still probably the most likely. And whoever the Judas is, I think they'll show up and do the evil stuff regardless of whether or not they are still or were ever a party member.

I remember talking in one of the old DA2 threads about having a Judas character that seemed really nice but was turning the companions against the Inquisitor behind his/her back, sowing seeds of doubt in their heads and stuff in order to cause trouble.

I honestly don't see the problem with Sera and Vivienne (I was sure she won't like him)not liking Cole. It was obvious we'd get companions that won't get along with him. And while I'm sure Vivienne (due to her personality), might be rude/aggressive to him, we don't know who exactly Sera will react. I'd hope howewer for a STFU option in interactive banter if they'll eventually to too far, because I hated it when it happened in DA2.
I don't see the problem either in calling him 'it' (unless Cole himself has problem with being called 'it').He's not technically a male.

Won't be an issue for me. I'm definitely not a fan of Cole.

There're a lot of things I love about the character.  I love that he both pulls on the heartstrings and raises the hackles.  I love his skill set, and can see how it would be a real advantage considering our mission.  I love his unconventional appearance.  Still, I'm not completely sold that his motivation is completely innocent.  If Cullen balks at Cole's recruitment, I will try to convince him without too much fuss.  If Cullen draws a line in the sand over it, then I'm going to trust his judgement and he's going to win that argument. No way am I willing to let Cole be a make or break issue between Cullen and my Inquisitor.

I read that you can finish the game with one companion,

That means.. He or she will be required for something. ??

Hmm I don't think it's politically correct to call person "it" in english however. It is in finnish language but it's more direct and less polite in other ways as well. I can see how many followers might have problem with Cole but in other hand I don't want to see him get hurt so if there is companion who bullies him, she/he will sit in the keep much XD

Definitely want that. One of the biggest things I hate about Anders is that he is downright vile to pretty much every companion at some point or another. And we couldn't even tell him to shut up.

I reckon Varric will be alright with Cole, he's used to abominations in the form of Anders anyway, what's one more, lol!

So long as he doesn't blow sh!t up, I'm sure he'll be fine. Varric isn't a cruel guy.

lol It's not; it would be extremely dehumanizing and deliberately insulting. Thanks for bringing this up; pronoun usage in different languages is absolutely fascinating.

I feel like Leliana was foreshadowing DAI with her comments of hat fashion in Orlais in DAO. Inquisitor's pimp hat, Vivienne's maleficent hat, Cullen's lion mask/helmet and Cole's wtf-that-even-is -hat. I feel like we are getting very many kind of hats in DAI XD

The way I see it, if he identifies as male (no matter what he is) then he's a male. Simple as that.

Exactly. Even if he is only a spirit, it seriously bugs me that Sera is gonna degrade Cole by calling him "it".

I know! Merrill's adorable! Why hate on her? But what really annoyed me was when he started on Bethany and Carver. They're meant to be our siblings and we can't even defend them? Wtf?!

But the point is that he's a spirit. They don't have genders. He might even address himself as 'it'. It's not necessarily an insult. It's possible Sera is using it as an insult, but we don't know this yet.

What if Cole refer to himself as 'it'? Spirits don't have genders. It depends on how he feels.

Yea it's intresting how there is differences ^^ In Finland calling person "it" is just normal part of spoken language, it's not unpolite although grammatically it isn't correct :)

Cole himself might not even fully understand the differences. Be it between male and female or the connotations behind Sera referring to him as an 'it'. I don't even find it that offensive, since it's fine to call an animal an 'it' and spirits and demons are far more alien than animals.
