[Potato Cat]

Wow. Yeah that would be me LOL I would be very p!ssed if someone referred to either of my cats as "it." No one's ever done that though; like I said, most people around here refer to pets via gendered pronouns (to afford the pet... and, obviously, the owner... respect/humanity [for lack of a better term]).

Oh cats are different. I love cats. If I see a internet cat, I still call it an it. If it's a real life cat, I assume it's a he and tell it I'm it's new mummy because I'm psycho crazy like that. But all other animals, event the ones I like such as bears and lizards and foxes, (the most feline of canines), are all its to me.

A thing i really liked about Merrill is that she's a good natured person. No matter how badly you treat her, she's still against hurting you (case in point, her opinion of selling Fenris).

She even gets mad when you point out the Keeper dying was kinda her fault. She prefers when you say Marethari was a fool. But like, she saved her. The demon would have for sure possessed Merrill. I don't buy for a second she'd be strong enough to resist a Demon. She didn't in the fade. We've seen she has no problem accepting their "help". I agree Fenris and Anders went too far at times, but it pissed me off how she refused to take responsibility for anything.

I kind of have to agree - I liked her as character, didn't like her as a person.  I didn't even mind the fact that she was a blood mage.  I don't really think blood magic is inherently evil, and I think it could even be a useful tool in the right hands.  But, she wasn't it.  She was sweet, sure, but I also found her naive, gullible, incompetent, and stubborn.  My last playthrough, I rivaled her and at first it was hard - kind of felt like a kicking a wounded puppy or something - but in the end I felt like she needed it.  

 

Also regarding Anders, I'm probably in large minority in being a fan of his (and I can see why people don't like him - it just happens that I do), but a lot of times I felt like he said the the things I wanted to but didn't.  He and Varric get along fine, and he's never cruel to Bethany (I actually double checked the wiki, and all their banters are friendly).

Yeah, I know it's metagaming. For some things I prefer to make decisions based on things my warden doesn't know. Like I always kill the rapist in Howe's dungeon even when I'm not playing a City Elf. If I was strictly role playing, I'd never make Bhelen king either. The only reason I do is because I know the outcome is better in the epilogue, even though technically, my warden shouldn't know what kind of king he'll end up being. He could've been a right dick.

 

Basically even though Hawke doesn't know, I do. So it makes it hard for me to support her.

All he knows is that the ditzy elven mage, better in control of her demon than Anders' spirit, wanted help to rebuild something that meant alot to her. For a friend, that might be something you'd help with.

Okay, now I finally get it why I--personally--was creeped out by the ME3 EDI/Joker ship BW did.

 

I was reading thru the would be Cole romance thread--- --and reading the views of sum that were not keen on it. Then I realized, EDI was much the same as Cole. Yes, she had this provocative mature body, But she had the "mentality" of a child. She was "emotionally" immature. Like a young girl just beginning to come into her awareness of her sexual feelings...and crushing on her 7th grade teacher.

 

And then the teacher takes advantage of that budding awareness. The whole thing made me feel very uncomfortable. I wonder whose idea it was? ick

To be fair, Merril does tell Hawke the eluvian killed Tamlen, or at the very least led to his disappearance.

Oh good. I've been trying to find these cruel lines since they were brought up. I'm a huge Anders fan and felt that he was honest about his opinions, but not cruel.

About Hawke and Merrill: I played DA2 before DAO...and did not play dalish elf origin until very recently. But my Hawke still knew it was BS. Loved Merrill, that's why I said no to all that.

I thought his banter was being called "cruel" though, not rude or tactless. I think cruel is a bit of a stretch. Certainly tactless - but that's why I like him.

Hmm disagree with her  Sera does not sound Dalish! Sounds more cockney (like kinda lower class, inner city, which suits her character perhaps??). And not sure if she saw a different qunari mage playthrough... but the one we all saw was definitely American.

 

Oh yes and I rewatched the dwarf playthrough to confirm (cause I was doubting myself); it's definitely the same (English) guy.

finally got to read a lil bit about Cole  I think that his intentions are just , in that he wants to hurt those who do bad, but I think due to the fact that he may have the mind of a "child" his actions might not  (for lack of a better word) intertwine with his intention and he might kill the wrong person sometimes, that said  I think if he will have proper guidance  by someone and understanding I think he will be able to do a lot of  "good"  even if he is a demon or whatever... at least thats how I see it but it will remain to be seen more in game

I think she expects Vivienne to be French like many seem to, even though we heard her in the PAX demo, and she ended up confusing the two when she heard her. And this kind of reassures me in my belief that Vivienne is voiced by Gwendoline Christie to be honest.

And if I and the wiki and someone else here on the forums somewhere are right, Sera's got a Lancashire accent. Which if my geography is also right, should be by the way, is a Northern accent. Generally lower class I'd say being Northern. Cos we Northerners are amazing like that.

I think Bubble from AbFab, AKA Jane Horrocks, has a Lancashire accent.
