I was just questioning this on that other thread but I wanted to ask your opinions.

Why do you think people get so legitimately angry over the large amount of Cullen love? I was saying that I get not understanding a huge fanbase for a minor character but I've seen people get truly mad about it. Like, "how dare you appreciate a minor character!" That kind of mindset just makes me scratch my head so much.

"*ROBERT*, how could you betray us like this? I thought we were friends!"

"L-Look out! It's Inquisitor *ROBERT*!"

"Sometimes, when you look at me, *ROBERT*, I wonder how I lived before you."

"You can call me *ROBERT*."

"We'll just call you the Inquisitor, seeing as those surface names are hard to pronounce."

OMG people, I am trying to hard not to guffaw loudly while I'm at work.

I know, all Quizzy's should be surnamed Darling. That way they can go for broke in the romance scenes AND provide cheap laughs in dramatic moments. Seriously, I am brilliant - someone should be writing this stuff down! :) :) :)

Tell me about it.  I'm not at work, but there a lot of people around.  What would I say if they asked  me what I was laughing at?

I'd be happy if the inquisitor was nicknamed Quizzy, it would make serious moment hilarious and imagine a Qunari being called Quizzy

Question: Do u prefer siding with mages or templars in the DA2?

My canon Hawke attempted neutrality/peacemaking until she was forced to pick a side, and then she sided with mages only because she didn't think it was right for them all to be wiped out. She still had serious reservations about it but had to make a choice so she ended up with the pro-mage ending.

However, in my headcanon Cullen stood up for the surrendered mages like in the templar ending, Hawke just wasn't there to see it.

Why do you guys think Cullen let pro-mage!Hawke leave in DA2? Fear? Respect? Did he lose his balance to save face pretended to have stepped backward?

I think it was a combination of respect, the fact that they'd just fought side by side, and the fact that Cullen's whole worldview was crashing down around his ears (again) and he wasn't prepared to fight that person he respected over beliefs he wasn't sure he even had anymore.

Exactly! My thoughts are that mages and mundanes need to be protected from each other, and thus templars have a very real and necessary job to do.

This is my feeling too. The Templar Order can take things too far and I'm of course opposed to the abuse of mages, but a world without any templars would be a world with a lot more dead civilians and a lot more dead mages.

Some mages are dangerous. Not always because they're evil, but because mages who lack self-control have the potential to harm themselves and others.

I think the best case scenario would be templars who consistently protected and helped mages instead of treating them like prisoners. I think templars will always need to exist, though, for everyone's safety.

But... but... we love your sass!! :crying:

I totally misread this and was thinking, "Wow, that was pretty blunt!"

Nicknames/Petnames for the PC:
I... maybe used to switch party member control over and over with the current LI just to catch their special romanced phrases, like how Alistair would say "My love?" or in DA2 I'd click on the romanced companion, a la Fenris with "I am yours..."
I may have even uninstalled a DAO mod because I realized it was chopping out special party addresses...

But.. that's not strange or anything... right? I mean...
...lots of people do stuff like that, yeah?

Yes?

hey, we could always beg GE to record a few endearments for us. Then whenever we wanted a special Cullen moment, we could just press play and hear the words we long to hear.....

Good point on the Follower Friday thread. This Friday is Good Friday. Will this affect Follower Friday in any way?

Yep, imagine the recording session. Hours of

"I love you Quizzy". "My life was empty before I met you" and "No Quizzy, that armour doesn't make your bum look big!" ;)

Yessss... it was an experiment! FOR SCIENCE! One I shall have to continue in DAI.... FOR SCIENCE!

Yeeeeeah... honestly yeah I probably would too. I loved the endearments! (I romanced Alistair and Fenris too.)

I also liked how the way your companions addressed you in conversation changed as your approval shifted, in DAO. Though I remember finding it funny that Alistairs "In-A-Relationship" greeting was sweeter than his "In Love" highest approval greeting... at least I think that was how it went, it's been a long time since I've played it.
But it's something [the shift in how the PC is directly addressed] I'd like to see in DAI.
