Jealous?  Or experienced enough to know the dangers and seek to protect someone she cared for from them?  But Merrill decided she "knew better" and NO ONE could tell her different.  Not her friends, not her clan, not her mentor.  No one.  Because SHE was so much better, so much smarter, so much more powerful ... One might assume it's sheer arrogance.  I tend to think, rather, it's a youngster acting from a naïve belief she's capable of proving everyone wrong.

Merrill always reminded me of one of my teenagers, actually.  I love them, and I'd do anything to keep them safe.  But they still drive me nuts, lol.

YESSSSSS.

I work with young teenagers, and Merrill always reminds me of them.  I rarely have a Hawke who doesn't go the rivalry rout with her.

Why didn't the Litany of Adralla seem to effect Wynne or the Spirit of Faith? Would it effect Vengeance/Justice? Merrill?

I think the Litany is blood magic/demon specific. I think that it would not effect Wynne's Hope Spirit because it isn't exerting any kind of negative influence on the host. I wouldn't be surprised if it worked against Vengeance/Justice towards the end of DA2.

edited to add: Why the heck aren't the templars required to memorize the Litany of Adralla? Doesn't that seem kind of important?!

Well, would the Litany know that Wynne's Spirit influencing her to heal *that* person was more noble than Merrill causing an enemy to become stunned? I had always thought it broke *any* mental interference. : /

I think it has to do with control. Wynne might have been possessed, but it was pretty clear that she was still acting under her own control. Her thoughts, beliefs and such had only been influenced, rather than directed by, the spirit. If the Litany worked on anyone who had been touched or affected in some way by a demon/spirit, it would work on every mage ever.

Can you save the video on Jibjab without having to pay for a subscription?

I made one that I'm particularly proud of:

http://www.jibjab.co...ssage/353149850

Edit: Screw it, I can't get the link to work and I don't have time to fix it now.

I will admit my memory of that scene is a tad rusty. How far away was Wynne when Lambert used the Litany to flush Cole out?

@Ananka: your link isn't working. It's just going to the main page.

True, however having one hold your bits together seems a different thing than meeting one once in the Harrowing. ;)

Crap, it works when I click it.

I'm not sure how to make it work. Is it possible to save the video somehow without paying for it?

Did MD say something about Cullen in her video? Because I have to run, and can't watch it, but I'm curious. =]

@Manvalanche: I usually kill Anders, so I am really excited to see what happens to Vengeance once he is "set free". There are plenty of pissed off folks in the vicinity when Anders dies. But I can't see Cullen knowingly accepting Justice or any spirit into himself.

I think it's the "knowingly" there that sticks out to me. Being overcome with a sense of justice or reprisal might also explain a sudden career change. ;) I doubt that's really the case, though.

Although a Red Lyrium Vengeance Meredith is in my head now, so thanks for that.

If you're given the choice between allowing him to suffer deeply without lyrium in the game or continue to let him use it, what will you choose?

Late responding to this, but my Inquisitor would allow Cullen to make his own choice and support him either way. It's a big decision with huge costs and huge risks, and Cullen is going to be the one ultimately living with the results, not the Inquisitor. It's Cullen's life and sanity and potential suffering. My Inquisitor wouldn't feel it was her place to tell Cullen what to do regarding it. She'd just be there for him whatever he decided.

The answer has arrived!

User
In #DAI will our companions have thier own mounts, or will they chase after us as we travel on our mounts?

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw
Neither. They disappear until you hop off.

Awww. Guess I'm never using the mounts in this game!

I'll do that, but if he chooses to stop using the stuff, I'm reloading because those withdrawal symptoms are scary! ;)

I think lyrium addiction is a one-way street. You can't beat the habit; you can only prevent the withdrawal. And inevitably, that addiction ends in mental deterioration, with or without lyrium.

I would still give him the lyrium, though. I have a world to save, and a templar suffering from withdrawal is of little use to my cause. Call me callous, but I didn't get him hooked on that stuff in the first place.

Blasted Sera. I don't know about you, but I am not canoodling with a bigot.

I hope that this condition is... temporary.

She's a bigot because she doesn't trust and fear an entity of the Fade ? As the most reasonable thing to do (expecially in Thedas' current situation) is to being friendly with one? Expecially at first, when she'd have no clue of what Cole really is? You think it's unreasonable for a mortal in Thedas to fear and distrust a Fade entity?
I'd tell her to shut up if she goes too far, but I don't see a problem in wanting to ignore Cole. And I think that (don't know if for better or worse), their relationship would move one from that Patrick line.

The only time I'll likely use the mount is to get somewhere quick in order to save them, like Leliana for example.

Yeah, but it really demotivates me to try and work for any mount in particular, (if there are mounts to try and work for that is), because I know I'll hardly ever use them.

I'll collect them up just so that they can live in my Skyhold stables... if we have stables, lol. In Skyrim I used to just run around everywhere, mainly because horses can't walk up mountains vertically like my Dovahkiin can!
