Damn, I was not expecting to find out Mr. Weekes wrote Cole! I was certain Mr. Gaider would've picked him up again. How intriguing.
I think lyrium addiction is a one-way street. You can't beat the habit; you can only prevent the withdrawal. And inevitably, that addiction ends in mental deterioration, with or without lyrium.
I would still give him the lyrium, though. I have a world to save, and a templar suffering from withdrawal is of little use to my cause. Call me callous, but I didn't get him hooked on that stuff in the first place.
Yeah, I doubt there is a way to quit it. If there was, surely somebody would have found it by now. To treat the retired templars at least.
And I would give Cass and Cullen their lyrium too for now, because I need them to be focused and competent, since we are the Inquisition, not a templar clinic.
After the game ends? Well, then I can headcanon whatever the hell I want. Maybe King Alistair or my Warden hid some sacred ashes of Andraste somewhere in Denerim, and my Inquisitor managed to get it and use to cure Cassandra, Cullen, Alistair and the Warden from all the bad stuff, and they all lived happily ever after, and never got crazy or went to their Callings
Who's going to stop me? I have some happy ending magic right here, and I'm not afraid to use it ![]()
Awww. Guess I'm never using the mounts in this game!
They still can be useful:

I suppose we will have to return sometimes to the locations our Inquisition already owns, to hunt animals for crafting, for example, or to enjoy the view, because the locations look amazing. Mounts will increase your speed, but will allow you to find the crafting materials and see everything ![]()
Also, there was that PAX (I think?) demo, where you had to defend a village from the Red Templars, and aslo defend your stronghold from them at the same time. And you had a timer on the screen, which was showing how much time you had left. With a fast mount it may be possible to save both the village and your people. Well, I'm going to try anyway
I don't want to make Varric cry, manly dwarven tears of the heartbreak are too much for me.

Using the horse during that quest sounds like a good idea! We could easily save both the village and our keep/fortress with plenty of time to spare!
Yeah, but it really demotivates me to try and work for any mount in particular, (if there are mounts to try and work for that is), because I know I'll hardly ever use them.

Unless after we save the village we get a loooong cut scene about how everyone we loved died because we had to go and save that stupid village
But it won't hurt to try ![]()

Well, they aren't attacking the Skyhold in that scene so our companions/characters won't die or get hurt. It's just one of our many fortresses out in the world. The devs said we could do both if we're prepared enough, so I certainly intend to try!
Oooo:
Patrick Weekes: "Play as an elf, get threatened, and it's an underdog story. Qunari, same scene, I'm wondering why I haven't snapped someone's neck yet."
Yay, underdog story! I think I'll be playing as an Elf this time around!

Aw, you like it really ?
Still don't know what to think of the outfit.![]()
The only thing sure is my quizzy will want to dance with him (in a bedroom if not in the ball).
Just finished getting caught up on the thread over breakfast. Regarding the Litany of Adralla, I thought all it actually does is interrupt mind control spells (Lambert talks about it only working on demons/blood mages - which is only accurate if you assume that only they can produce these types of spells - I imagine the Litany might work on a Somniari as well even though they are neither). When you use it in Origins, it keeps the mages from becoming possessed and turning on you. It doesn't actually harm Demon!Uldred, nor does it affect Wynne if she's with you. Even in Asunder, all Lambert manages to do is break Cole's spell. If I remember right, Cole is only stunned by it a bit - but that seems to be the case whenever a mage's spell is interrupted for any reason. It'd be interesting to see how the Litany would affect Anders - for the most part they are a merger rather than one being controlled by another, least as far as we know. But I agree that every Templar, hell every mage, should have the thing memorized instead of it being confined to a book that's hidden away in storage.

Oh, I totally do! I mean, it's a little fancy for him for everyday, but for a ball it seems perfect. And, it draws on the drapey jacket idea from his new DA:I concept. It's awesome!

The thing that always struck about that part in Asunder is that...
Also, agree that Litany of Adralla doesn't seem very clear cut in its usage, except that in PWeekes' interview, he says it means Cole is one or the other: blood mage or demon. So perhaps it's intended to be that clear cut.

Man. This floored me. I loved all the other steampunk characters, but this. Whoa. Very very awesome, and damn. Two of my favorite things together. ![]()

This is an excellent point. Sending a Templar out to fight evil without it is like sending out the fire brigade with only one bucket of water. Weird.
Last bit about mounts and then I'll drop it: the only way I would consistently use a mount is if you got to pick one party member to double up and ride with you. Then you get a little smidge of special dialog. That would make it worth while for me. Bonus points if it's your LI.

Thanks for posting this
. I was wondering about the party banter and now that I've read it, I'm actually pleased. Sounds as if we could balance our discovery tour. In one direction the Inquisitor and the companions will simply walk on foot, so we don't miss out on the party banter. On the way back, there's a mount.

Oh yes, definitely. The outfit is perfect for an Orlesian ball. And yeah, my Quizzy would def dance with him...anywhere he wants. ![]()

I plan on having way too many playthroughs, so guaranteed I will be doing an elf underdog story at some point.
I have only planned elves and qunaris so far so quite much underdog stories for me ![]()
I plan on having at least one playthrough for each race, so i will play the underdog story too
