Yay, underdog story! I think I'll be playing as an Elf this time around!

I decided my first playthrough will definitely be an elven Qwizzy, if only to provide elves a real hero at a point in Thedas' history where they soooo need one.  I imagine I'll have to get several races knocked out in other playthroughs, too.  Before I'm really satisfied, that is.  But I tend to lean towards the idea my canon Qwizzy will be an elf.

My day was horrible too, certainly not for the same reasons as yours, but I bless everyday my grandpa who shared with me a bit of his artistic fibre. Drawing helps to forget all the sh!**y things for 1h or 2. And, gosh, I draw a lot !

Well, many things lately have surprised me abt DAI. Sera being f/f only was surprising cuz I thought they would have at least one non human LI option. And elves are kinda popular.

 

Weekes wrote Cole for DAI. Did not see that one coming. And Cassandra was the character Gaider took over from Hepler.

 

I have no idea what to expect anymore. Which is rather freeing. How very Zen...and all that. Who knew BW would be my Zen Masters.

OMGosh, this reminds me of a funny story.  Only bear with me a moment:

 

So I was deployed overseas, up in the Balkans.  Back around 1998, mind you.  (And yea, I'm that old, pbbfftt!)  So anyway .... I make some really good friends in one of the Cav units.  They're tankers.  We're talking M1Abrams tanks, here.  And they show me all the gadgets and gizmos galore on board the things, because there's no way I'm ever going to be allowed to be a tanker.  Female that I am, we used to lol about it.  But they enjoyed taking me out on patrol every once in a while, just to let me experience what it's like inside one of those things.

 

Anyway.  They were convoying down this narrow road one day.  Mind you, all the roads over there are narrow and most are mountainous, to boot.  It's a beautiful region, trust me.  I wasn't a part of the patrol that day, which might be a good thing.  I'm not sure I would've been able to keep from laughing, at least.  So they're just doing their thing, convoying the tanks from one base camp to another down this narrow mountain road.

 

And this really nice Mercedes comes whipping suddenly around the corner.  Like ziiippp.  No warning, it's just friggin' THERE.  My buddy is the gunner that day, and he's just settled up in the turret, enjoying the sunny day and taking pictures, which is what we usually did when we were out on patrol like that.  He's the first one to see this car, and he yells out some loud really obscene curse word that I cant post here.

 

Bear in mind, nice Mercedes cars were really rare down there.  You saw them every once in a while.  But seriously.  Not often.  And this one pretty much clips the very front corner of my buddy's tank.  The impact actually works to slingshot the car around, so that it's like side by side with the tank for a moment.  Then it slingshots again, and smacks the lower end of the tank on the other side of the car.  It basically just rolls from the front of the tank all the way to the back.

 

Lucky guy, that fellow jumps out of the wreck of a car.  And he's yelling and screaming in Croation at all the soldiers who're piling out of the tanks.  And the convoy commander, who's a captain, he stands there.  Just calmly listening as the fellow yells and screams at him.  Mostly because he doesn't understand a word the guy's saying, mind you.  Finally, the guy settles down.  And the captain brings up the interpreter, who admits the guy's been cursing at the convoy the entire time.  Which the captain pretty much guessed anyway.

 

So now that everything's calm and the guy's waiting for ... I dunno.  Maybe an apology?  Maybe a new Mercedes?  But that captain, totally deadpan expression in place.  He just looks at the guy and he says, "I hope you have insurance, sir.  Because you just ruined the paint job on my M1Abrams tank."

 

Ah, good times.

I hear yah! I'm worried about my drawing hand. Haven't been able to take glucosamine for the pass 8 months, and now I can barely hold a pencil. I'm hoping it gets better after baby is here...or I won't be tattooing...or gasp drawing anything DA related...
