I ventured onto youtube and watched all of the DA:O and DA2 footage (official, not any of the modded, since I play console and won't be able to mod for DAI anyway).
Cullen's sentiments on the conflict are obviously shaded by his experiences, but he is not as hard core on the matter as I remembered. I think he may be an option for me, after all, and he is pretty fantastic looking. I am cautiously on board the Cullen train. We shall see!

Yeah that's kind of hat happened to me during my first couple of DA2 playthroughs. Then we learned his DAO epilogue a had been retconned so I couldn't hold that against him anymore. He started to seem more intriguing than sad and forever damaged to insanity for me. I hope DAI answers a few questions I'd like to know. Sorry. I typo'd. It was supposed to be DAO. I edited it. I was referring to the DAO epilogue that stated Cullen went on a berserk killing spree, slaughtering mages. The slides at the end of DAO (not DAI ). One of them references Cullen going mad and killing several apprentices before scampering off into the woods.
Considering DA2, that was unlikely. It has since been noted that the DAO slides are only rumor and myth, and the Devs will not stay bound to what they wrote there.
