I do hope it's Solas next. I'm really interested in him and I think the lack of solid information on him is really making me want to romance him for some reason, lol! Plus, I feel really sorry for his fans in his thread. They haven't heard anything for ages!

Seconded!He's a real mystery this one,I wonder if he plays a major role in the game,hence they haven't revealed anything on him yet.

Funny thing is that if you observe him he looks nothing like Nick Cage,not that looking like Nick Cage necessarily is a bad thing...I just don't see the resemblance.

I think the fact that he just sort of glosses over the blood magic part, or that he actually finds blood magic attractive.

I really just read it as an equaly snarky response to Hawke's original comment. She started it with her (darkly) humorous comment and he responded in kind. It isn't until you factor in his decisions and the reveal at the end of the game that this scene raises some eyebows.

Reminds me of an otome game I played once where all the other characters were scoffing at the romanceablity of one character, so of course I had to follow his route first.

I feel like the more I sit here thinking "damnit I hope Solas isn't the straight romance" the more likely it is that he ends up with, like, Peter Serafinowicz's voice and Douglas Adams's sense of humor and every other possible perfect non-appearance trait, and then isn't available to my femquisitors.

 

EDIT: Not that I actually spend that much time thinking that, given that my first playthrough is spoken for and the low odds that I get it together to do a second playthrough.

Hi! Another lurker de-lurking here   it's the first time I'm on a Bioware forum (man, this community is huge, this will be so time-consuming - I love it!). 

 

I've played DA:O obsessively in the last years, I think it was one of the first games I picked up after a loooong phase of not playing anything at all. On my first playthrough as mage I stumbled into Cullen, fell in love, and yeah, fast-forward to today, now I'm here. I only finished DA2 recently, friends always told me it was boring and not worth the time (?????? couldn't disagree more), but I think the characters really make up for the lack of diverse dungeon maps. 

 

Concerning Cullen's views on mages: I always felt that he is aware of their strength while at the same time knowing all too well the dangers that come with such power and responsibility. I never took him as a mage hater - but I'm pretty sure the events at Kirkwall will put him in a position where he had to reflect once more on templars, mages and their relationships with each other. Oh, I'm so curious to see what kind of character development he'll have in DA:I. 

 

I'm so exited for DA:I I'm counting the days and crawling through forums ^--^ I've lurked long enough to read the last 30ish pages of this thread, but apologies in advance if I ask something that's already been answered or discussed. Talking of which.... are there any conspiracy theories yet related to the lion helmet? As for what reason he's wearing it?

Well, that's debatable I'm not in favor of the whole "triggering craze" sweeping the culture, which I believe started in Tumblr. Recently schools are even removing books from booklists to prevent "triggering" among students. 

 

If things like rape and other "triggery" responses are in the game, then I think it's okay to talk about them. For example, people talk about the city elf storyline all the time. Sure, that can be upsetting (to say the least) to someone who's experienced that horrific situation, and I guess we have to just tread the line between sensitivity and censorship.

 

I just personally do not think what Manvalanche said warrants editing. The scene with Orsino mentions

I personally don't think he will be a romance at all, but if he is, I hope he is straight because that ups Cullen's chance of being bi lol!

I wish I could quote and like this 15 more times. I was beginning to think I was the only one who didn't get this, so to speak.  I think it's sort of silly, honestly. (Not that there's anything wrong with silly, I just don't get this particular brand of silly. )

I... actually do see it And I hate Nick Cage, so, it didn't help. But it doesn't diminish my interest in him as a character. And I hope for the sake of his fans that he gets his reveal soon. 

 

I wish everyone could be a LI, available to all characters. Sigh.

Yeah, there's several reasons he might not have tattoos, but still born to the Dalish. Maybe he left the Dalish, or his clan was destroyed when he was still young. The thing is it's not clear and people ought not to assume and then spread it around that he is Dalish. I quite like the theory that he's an ancient elf who has more or less just woken up, but I'm not sure if they'd do that as it is fairly similar to Javik.

When I first tried the Dalish origin I removed the tattoos because I thought they were all ugly as hell. Oops.   

 

...Then the one that looks like Hala antlers grew on me like crazy.
