I think it would depend, though. Initially, Cullen would probably be all *side eye* at Dorian, but I think Cullen would eventually be able to see that Dorian's not a terrible person. 

 

I don't know how I think Cullen would react in a love triangle situation. I, in fact, shudder to think.

 

I think Cullen could get over Dorian's being a mage (and I think Dorian will be mostly unimpressed with him being a(n ex-)Templar), but, like Potato Cat said, I think they'll just clash on a personality level. I don't see Cullen reacting well to Dorian's arrogance and vanity well at all. 

 

This also probably means people will ship the two of them. I can already feel that thought bouncing around the back of my mind.

Well, I wouldn't ship them together, but only because I have my own opinion of where Ser Cullen needs to be (In the Inquisitorial bedchamber, duh. ), but I don't think it'll be a ship I'd mind so much.

 

As for their personalities-Yeah, they probably will clash, if only due to their completely different frames of reference.  I kind of think it would be a neat thing to witness.

For me it also depends on the context. I don't like beards in rl but in medieval shows/movies/games I think they look good on characters in armor. 

 

If I saw number 4 walking down the street I would be like wtf? but in a Robin Hood movie it would work

All joking aside, Cullen will always be my number one. Dorian seems like a blast, though. I'm gonna enjoy him.

 

Likewise. Cullen is still by far my top choice as romance option, and I don't see that changing. 

 

I do think the other characters are interesting as characters, though, including Dorian. I look forward to hearing more about them all.

I actually don't think Cullen would knowingly be involved in a love triangle. At this point in his life, I think he'd want a relationship that was stable and relatively low-drama. Given his own strong sense of devotion and loyalty, I also don't think he'd have much patience with an Inquisitor who couldn't just decide who she/he wanted to be with and stick to it. I think if Cullen found out the Inquisitor was also interested in somebody else at the same time, he would just give the Inquisitor an opportunity to make a choice and then bow out if the situation wasn't resolved. I just don't think Cullen is the type to tolerate a love triangle, and I think he'd simply extricate himself from it rather than trying to compete for the Inquisitor's affections.

Agreed. I think he'd back away with a " I don't have time for this bs" kind of attitude towards it. And really I wouldn't blame him. At his age n level of maturity, not to mention everything going on, I doubt he'd want more issues added to his already over flowing plate

I agree.
People forget, or just choose to ignore, the fact that Cullen is still suffering PTSD only a YEAR after his torture. A small vacation isn't going to fix him. Soldiers can go through the same thing; I read an article about a soldier who was caught, tortured, but eventually rescued. His views on the native people HE WAS PROTECTING scewed terribly because of that experience.

PTSD doesn't just go away, and I imagine the sort of healthcare he needs just isn't available aside from confiding in someone he trusts...and his fears and anger could easily be twisted in the wrong hands. His development, especially in Act 3 on the Templar route, proves he still holds to his ideal about the Order. It would have been much much MUCH easier to just kill all the mages and follow his superior. Instead, he chose to otherwise.

Cullen's strength and willingness to see past his own demons is why I like and respect him so much.

I've seen and worked with soldiers -- very personally at times.  I honestly believe it's why I was so admiring of Cullen in DA2, because I could relate to the simple fact he'd grown so much into a stronger individual, rather than letting his pain and experience really ruin him forever.  And you're right.  It's not that he'll ever forget or just "get over it"; it's rather that he tempered it into a real steely determination to be better for his experience.

I'm waving weakly at you all! My surgery went fine (for those of you that know about it- to those who didn't I kinda had brain surgery. It worked out lol!) and the tumor in my brain was non-cancerous ! Huzzzaaaaah! Still in the hospital but things are going well.

Hello to all you new awesome posters and to the dorian and Cole fans I'm glad you got those updates!

Mello that picture of Cullen is amazing! I especially love the hand position for some reason! May I ask why he's wearing a cross necklace?

Also favor to ask- does anyone have links of the interviews for Cole or Dorian or Iron Bull?
