I didn't read that as a past tense at all. He could just as well use IS and the sentence would still mean the same to me.

Yeah, I can't wait for Cullen but Solas is super intriguing as well. I want to find out more about him. I like his concept and all the snippets we know so far, so bing on BW ;]If not Cullen, then I realllllllly hope it's Solas' reveal! Can't wait to read his interview.

Agreed. For the moment he's part of the Inquisition, whether was or still is a Templar is kinda a moot point all the time he's working for us. I would presume that even if he still is a Templar he won't be returning to the Order any time soon... or at all, if my Inquisitor has any say in things!

I'll start off on normal/casual to get myself used to the game and its' workings. I'm not naturally good at gaming so I build myself up slowly. I'll try all the companions out to start with and then put together a group based on a combination of fun factor and ease of use. LI on first playthrough is clearly going to be Cullen, female character, almost definitely human, and probably a mage. Rogue is still in contention though
As for the romantic entanglement, I can never be certain but who am I kidding, the moment Cullen starts to speak I am sold. Love Greg Ellis so much. He will probably be my canon li, unless I mess up very badly.

He is just really interesting to me, beyond his face, I feel like he's going to be really interesting. Plus, depending on how much Dorian talks about handsome he is or superior because of his skillz, Solas will probably be the only Mage I bring with me. I don't think my inquisitor and Vivienne will get along and I know that might make some mad that I say that but it's just in my game.
She's a neat addition, but, she sounds too much like a diva and I will not be nagged.
Me too,I've been wanting to learn more about him ever since that German article,the only thing we know is that he's an expert of the fade and even that could be wrong,since we've seen similar shenanigans before. 
Although I'd say that some variations of his outfits look really nice and fluffy,esp with that fur thingie,so I don't mind his fashion sense that much at this point.Chances are he'll be the mage I bring with me the most in my main quizie playthrough especially when I also bring Cole.
Dorian and Viv will get along better with my Trevelyan though...

I'm still not sure whether to role a human or an Elf first.
For my first playthrough I like to do a self insert which would usually mean rolling a human for obvious reasons, but ideally I'd prefer to role an Elf because from the sounds of things playing as a Elf or Qunari (not sure about Dwarf) means that your character is generally a bit of an underdog, which I like! It certainly looks like we can make a very unique elven protagonist if Solas and Sera are anything to go by, so in theory it shouldn't be too hard to recreate myself as an Elf... her height would be correct anyway. I know I'm definitely going to play as a mage first because I wanna see how people react to a mage protagonist in regards to the mage/templar war and this giant fade breach (also, Cullen/mage romance is an absolute must-try for me!) I'll most likely pick the Knight Enchanter specialisation so that I can still run into the heat of battle rather than having to stay back all the time.
However, I didn't really wanna play as one of the Dalish. I was hoping for a city Elf option. Still, I guess I won't really know what race I'll go for until I get in the CC and check out their background/Surname history and see how I fair with trying to recreate myself as each race.
Guys, OT but FOR REAL. How in the hell did you get to 1700+ pages? I can't fathom it.
Also they did indeed change Anders a lot but I think that was a change in writers and voice actor. Cullen has same VO so the tone wouldn't change as much, I think. I've had to mod Anders' face in Awakening to look more like him in 2 and I keep having to place Adam Howden's voice onto Ellis'... so difficult. It's made Awakening kind of a pain to play... inconsistency really bugs me.

I personally think the whole discussion on sexual preferences should be avoided at this point. It's making a lot of people (myself included) uncomfortable and is tricky ground to tread on. Things tend to explode out of it so I feel it should be avoided until the proper time comes to discuss it (such as when we hear the final verdict from the devs). Please, it would mean a lot!

Yeah, I think it's safe to say that he will be attracted to women. Whether or not he's only attracted to females remains to be seen, I'd say the biggest concern for those planning to play a female protagonist who romances Cullen will be the race of that character. A human is likely your safest bet!

Actually being Dalish is the only thing that keeps me from rolling an elf for my self-insert playthrough...I like the Dalish and I already have a planned character(possibly my canon one too) but it's not the sort of background that I can relate to for that sort of playthrough mainly because imo it requires a specific POV...But then again I guess we'll have to wait and see.
I'd still choose this over a noble though,underdog stories are more fun to play.
