Oh, I just asked if we could maybe get a new screenshot to celebrate DAI winning the Game Critics Award, and guys retweeted that to devs, and Cameron Lee said that he would love to, but he's on his way to SF. Maybe something will happen when he returns? Or maybe we will get a Cullen tomorrow?

Well, they didn't win that one, but won another, so I had to try my luck
Edit: oooh, DAI actually won something, for PS3/Xbox 360. I don't know if it counts? But they should definitely post a screenshot every time they win something.

What kind of character are you guys looking to romance him with? I really want to do female human or elf mage because that is the closest thing to who he was in love with in DAO. I want to see if there will be any interesting story plot points from that. Will he be conflicted by falling in love with another mage? oooohhh waaaaaa

I was planning on romancing him with a human female Mage. I usually play that. I did rather like that your class changed the opinions people had about you, and their reactions in DA2. I can see more of that in DA:I.

I'm totally looking forward to some angsty personal confliction. Kind of like Mage rival romance with Fenris, but hopefully more tender and vulnerable.

 

Cullen seemed to have been deeply in love with the mage/Amell/Surana at the circle in Lake Calenhad! So I'm wondering if he is going to feel ripped up about falling in love with someone else after that... Especially if they are also a mage @W@

Well, I planned my canon Inquisitor before we knew Cullen was even an important character, let alone a romance, so I didn't tailor my plans to him - so I'm going with a human female mage for my first playthrough.

 

I would have chosen something different had I been planning with a Cullen romance in mind. When the romance was announced, I did consider ditching that character and starting over, but I'm pretty attached to Tempest and really want her to be my canon character.

 

I know Tempest will be interested in Cullen, but if he rejects her (or if the romance with a mage is just super unhealthy and awful) I'll try again with a different playthrough.

@Lucidae: I plan on my first play through where I romance Cullen as a human female mage. Not exciting, but it's become an almost tradition to me. I think the mage aspect will add an element to the romance some how. x3

With Cullen? I have no idea. I have a male qunQuisitor mage, a female dwarfQuisitor warrior, a female elfQuisitor rogue and a male humanQuisitor mage all lined up. Anyone of them could be his.

 

Maybe all of them... OK, one for Dorian though.

I just like the conflict in an (ex) templar falling in love with a mage. I was a fan of the Fenris romance too.

I plan on romancing Cullen with my main canon, female elf mage, Nyx Lavellan (don't know if I spelled Lavellan right don't judge me) And Dorian will be her best friend/wingman   Dorian and Cullen's friendship/rivalry shall be interesting

Sometimes I feel like the only person who wants him to be reminded of Amell/Surana when he meets a female mage. My mage Inquisitor won't look like Amell, but she'll have a similar personality, and I'm hungry for the angst that might cause for Cullen.

I think we all just kinda dig the whole "forbidden romance" angle. It's sneaky-sexy. And everyone knows that a little rivalmance is always spicier.

 I was a fan of the Fenris romance too.

 

DA2 was my first game in the series, and I ended up friendmancing Fenris with a mage. I didn't really know anything about the setting starting out, so it was just sort of "Hm, I'll do magic, that sounds cool!" and then "My my, this is a hot elf! Oh, my Hawke can flirt with him..." and it all went from there.
