I was thinking about something. We worried that Cullen's romance will suck, because he's an NPC, and not a companion. But now it actually looks like his role in the Inquisition is more important, maybe even more important than a companion's role. What if his romance will be more awesome, swoon-worthy, intense, etc, than any companion's romance?

Because it looks like Cullen has not only just a personal quest, he has some kind of a huge story arc, and we know he's a bamf, and that he's probably really important, and that Inquisitor has special scenes with the advisors, where companions don't participate. To me it looks like his romance may actually be more interesting than anything I have seen in BioWare games before :)

Just a little heads up for anyone here that wanted the PC Inquisitors edition in the UK. It's now available to pre-order on Gamestops website. Ten quid dearer than the console version of course.

Hello, I'm new to the Cullen forum (I think).  Sometimes I forget just where I've been.   Anyway, does Cullen really sing?    I wonder if it is something bawdy, which would be a real eye opener, or if it is a romantic ballad?   Since he is the only confirmed romance so far for my straight female Inquisitor, I've been trying to come up with a reason why she might be attracted to him, since she is an elf mage.   Music might just be the key.    It could be Lily and Jowan in reverse, with him having the beautiful voice that melts her heart.

As for the dying of lyrium poisoning thing, may be the green glowy hand can fix that too.   If the lore now allows us to reverse tranquillity, then may be we will also be able to discover a way of reversing lyrium addiction.

His VA Greg Ellis tweeted that Cullen sings in DAI and teased it to be softly and stirringly ^^ It would seem like ballad to me but maybe he sings chant or in funeral etc.

Welcome new delurkers! Stay delurked!

Yes, but I hope Cullen romance doesn't have as much angst as, say, Anders'. Cullen is addicted to lyrium. He will eventually lose his mind and die from the lyrium poisoning. He can only have a decade of nice happy life with his love, if they are lucky. That's enough angst for me.

Agree. I think Cullen comes with built-in angst. No need to add much more.

I wonder if our advisors will advise us on more than just their area of expertise?

Yeeaaah, my mind went there. Ahem. I hope they share LOTS of expertise.

Welcome, Gervaise! And i only remember the reversal of Tranquility being temporary, not permanent. Did I miss something? I'm always missing something. :(

Reading Asunder tells you many new things about Tranquility.

Sorry, my mistake. It's the same price. For whatever reason I didn't add express delivery to my console order of it, so my PC order was coming out dearer. Even then I don't know where I got ten pounds from seeing as express is only 5.50

With all the Jowan/Cullen art floating around, maybe BW decided to give people what they wanted to see. :P

There's Jowan X Cullen stuff? That's a THING?!?!

I'm going to have to look this up but I know I will regret it.

Oh, it's not that. It's just the fact that I can't afford to buy one right now and despite it being a pre-order you have to pay for it immediately rather than in October like normal pre-orders. So I'm sulking, LOL!

Oh yes, sounds perfect for the secret love affair in the Circle tower. But it makes me think of Wynne and Rhys' father. It was probably a very sad story. Too bad we will never hear it now :(

I don't have a song for Quizzy/Cullen yet. This is one of the most optimistic songs from my Amell/Cullen playlist:

It may suit the Inquisitor!Rhiamon too, but she has less issues than the girl in the song :) Of course, I don't know what the glowing hand does, maybe it's a magical cancer too.

I'm seeing this one at the moment:

Lyrics:

Spoiler

This is of course assuming Cullen hasn't dealt with his past by the time we meet him. If he has it'll be very different :)

Because the Muse song made me think of it, does anyone else have any songs they like to imagine will suit the relationship between Cullen and their Inquisitor? If so, post the song and some of the lyrics you think fit! B)

Sorry. Had to.

I keep hoping this is true... and then I can't help but also feel that the devs are just frakking with a big group of faceless, enthusiastic fangirls by dropping meaningless hints to chum the fan waters.

It's BW, and they're awesome, so if it's worth doing, I'm sure the advisor romance will be good. But, I'd hate to get our hopes up like this and be disappointed. I for one am trying to keep my expectations low. At this point, Cullen even acknowledging he feels the same about my character is good enough for me!  ^_^

Rhys also had the opportunity to talk with Pharamond about his research and he says later that he thinks it may be possible to reverse the process without the person becoming possessed first.   It seemed to be something to do with coming into contact with a Fade Spirit that re-established the connection.   So Rhys suggests that instead of attracting a demon, you use the same spirits you use for healing.     May be it works better if the Spirit is still in the Fade, whereas Justice was inside Anders.    Anyway the fact is it can be done and Wynne made sure that every Circle mage knows it.

Now I always felt just as sorry for the Templars being controlled through their enforced lyrium addiction as I was for the mages in DAO.    Both to me seemed trapped and controlled by dogma.   The withdrawal symptoms seemed truly awful when we found that poor guy in the dungeons.   Then in DA2 we came across that guy Sampson and I was never clear if he was still addicted and getting his illegal lyrium from the Carta or whether he had actually got off the stuff.    I was also unclear at what point they start to have to take it.    Alistair never got that far in his training and it would seem Keran didn't either, or it would not have been so easy for him to just walk away.    So there has to be a trial period, may be several years, before you get given it.    Obviously Cullen would already have gone far beyond that stage.    So I hope they do address the problem of his lyrium addiction, either because we have to obtain supplies of it to keep him sane, or because someone has come up with a way of weaning people off it and may be we have to find the ingredients for a potion to help with this.

On the song front, may be he sings at the funeral of the Divine, although normally I would have thought that would be Lelianna.     If he is still committed to his faith, then may be he does sing verses from the Chant, just like Lily.

I also hope they explain it more. The devs have acknowledged they'll address lyrium addiction in some way in DA:I. On Alistair, it's been... clarified that indeed he did need to take lyrium  in order to have templar abilities, so he was a somewhat unreliable narrator in DA:O.

Oh I see, sorry.

I double checked, Iff you're paying by MasterCard, VISA or PayPal Gamestop doesn't take the money until it ships.

Edit again because I can't seem to read properly today.

They do withdraw the amount from your account as authorisation and then put it back seven days later.

LOL Thanks for reminding me of all the Asunder stuff. It's been over a year since I read it, and I read it all in one sitting. So I need to review, methinks. And oh, yeah, the Jowan/Cullen thing? How have you NOT stumbled upon that yet? I go looking for some eye-candy fan art of Cullen, and BOOM! Jowan in a compromising position with said Templar. It is almost a little more blush-worthy than the Anders/ Cullen art. I'm 30, and some of that stuff still manages to make me blush.
