And I am so late to the party, but Maker's balls does Leliana look GORGEOUS. And it's weird. I always liked Leliana, but after seeing what can happen to her and knowing she's likely lost the Divine... I'm just feeling so protective of her. It's alright, Leliana! My Inquisitors will do all they can to save you/keep you safe/help with emotional turmoil--! ;n;

I didn't realise how much I loved her until I saw her again at E3 and now it's clear how much Justinia meant to the poor girl and I'm so sorry for her that everyone she loves either betrays her, dies or disappears, (in the case of the Warden). As much as I hate the trope, I really want to prescribe her some Bioware protagonist magical healing genitals so she can be happy Leliana again!

As much as I love all the companions we've had before, and as much crap as the characters went through in DA:O and DAII, I have a feeling DA:I will be outdoing all those feels. At least for me. I just have this feeling about it.

Good Lord, I agree with this so much.  This game is going to turn me inside out.   It's going to rip me to shreds.   It will be a wild ride of highs and lows that will  leave me an emotional basket case.  ......................   I can't wait.

Personally, I liked Merrill, but I'm more interested about Sera then I was of Merrill prior to DA2's release (and Merrill was at the time the only character in which thread i actively partecipated). As I'm more interested in the new cast then I was of DA2's or DAO's.
My favourite companion of DA2 is returning, and my favourites LI of the IP (Morrigan And Leliana), so I'm a bit lucky on this.

My thing is, though, was she ever NOT hard and cold? Being a Bard, she would have been an AMAZING actress. So for all we know, this is how she's always been, it just fit her agenda to go along with the Warden at that time.

Oh, she intrigues me too, don't get me wrong. I am all for development, pushing characters to their limits, and putting them through horrible situations-- it's why I love making bad stuff happen to the player character too. It won't stop me from having FEELS for her, though.

Me too. I never liked her in DA:O, but it will be interesting to see how she changed and why.

Also, FYI: he's the first gay character *I've* written. It's not DA's first (Sera), and definitely not BioWare's (Cortez, Traynor, Juhani).

Yes!  And he is a Commander or General now, so I assume that military leadership is part of templar training, but I can't imagine that he had a lot of time to get that training with all the sh!t going down since Kirkwall. 

Is he? Cullen was a Knight-Captain in DA 2. Now, I don't remember where I've read this, but isn't Knight-Captain a very high rank among the templars? Like the second highest you can get? (Meredith's rank of a Knight-Commander was obviously higher). I'm not so sure if Cullen climbed the social ladder. As a matter of fact, I think it could be really interesting if Cullen fell in disgrace and if he were expelled from the templar order. His motivation for joining the inquisition could be that he hopes this gets him back on the templars good side. Anyway, we will find out soon .

Agreed. I believe Varric's backstory and his relationship with Bianca will be explored more thoroughly this time.

I think that with race gating the possibility of him being a LI are higher, though it's better to be prepared in the case he won't.
