I'm not overly concerned about his appearance, tbh; it's apparent he doesn't have some major deformity on his face so I'm cool  But I really really want that interview!

I'm not so much afraid about them making him ugly or anything anymore, more just curious about how it will match up to what I already have formed in my head from the few shots we've already got.

I really hope his goatee is more noticeable/prominent though, that for some reason is of some importance for me lol It's his signature look!

My only caveat with the article is that Sera is not mentioned at all, even though she was two weeks ago.

So. Who else thinks that it would be AMAZING if BW did a double reveal?

My caveat is that it makes "all bi" fans look like heartless villains :P As you can see from my long-winded comment there

I suppose it has to do with that Dorian is a Bioware first, whereas Sera is not since Juhani was already a female same sex LI who was also a companion.

I think NO... because it would make Cullen and Scribbles look like the "lesser" advisers to Leliana's All Mighty Awesomeness

I tweeted Patrick about it, and he said that it was probably more that Dorian was the one kicking up accusations of Biphobia due to DG's choice of words.

I think the article (well, reads more like a blog) was responding directly to the outcry against Dorian (not that I'm really aware of such an outcry, but apparently there are some steaming mad FemQuizzy players out there?).

I think the problem is that the world isn't ready for romance-able characters with fluid sexualities. It is far more important that gay and bi characters receive representation.

EDIT: I wish she had pointed this out.

It was more that people took issue with DG's choice of words and accused Bioware of bi-erasure.

I wanted to romance him. But it's okay. I'll just make a male Inquisitor for one of my playthroughs. Not a big deal!

As I grow older, I start to feel like sexuality is more and more fluid. But I agree, I don't think the world is quite ready for that yet. Hell, we still have trouble with different sexualities, much less fluid ones.

I've read a lot of articles that didn't mention either the (quite frankly BS) biphobia accusations or Sera and her sexuality at all. Most seem to be focused on Dorian, or at least the ones I've seen.

Yeah, this is where I'm sitting. A part of me is going, "MOAR INFO NOW", while the other part of me can wait, if only to give Cullen the grand reveal he deserves. (Scribbles, too, of course.)

I just saw a lot of crap on Tumblr mostly in regards to DG's words about Dorian, and how it contributes to "bi-erasure".

Well, I'm talking about characters versus real people. Of course, I'm sure there are people who say their sexuality is fluid, and more power to em. But for now I'm going with the assumption that in real life, sexuality is something you're born with.

In a game, novel, or whatever, though, a character's sexuality can be fluid because s/he is just a character, and so the writer can manipulate him/her to suit the story better. I've written a character as gay in one story and straight in another, for example. I think in an RPG this kind of "fluidity" would work because the player is something of a writer... that's why "playersexuality" made sense to me.

Losing playersexuality has been a difficult pill to swallow, but it's eased down knowing that characters like Dorian and Sera now exist.

That is such crap (and I want to use a stronger words lol). However, I felt like the writer of the article was suggesting that fans of the all-bi system were supportive of bi erasure, too, which... I don't think is entirely correct.

I just think it's stuff like this which totally ridicules the whole idea of biphobia and bi-erasure even being a thing. Hell, right now, my iPad is trying to tell me biphobia isn't a word. *rolls eyes*

The only thing I'd even consider to be bisexual erasure in Bioware games is the playersexuality thing in DA2, actually. I know they said Anders wouldn't tell a female Hawke about being bisexual and his relationship with Karl but why not? I wouldn't want to date a guy who isn't even comfortable revealing or talking about his sexuality with me. Zevran did in DA:O, though he admitted he preferred girls, at least he said something about liking men too. Whether it was their intention or not, they did give the impression that Anders was straight when you were playing as a girl, and gay when you were playing as a guy. That's erasure IMO. Not what they're doing now.

True. I agree. I don't think it's fair to demonize those that did like the all-bi system. That being said, I'm more happy with the homosexual and bisexual representation in DAI.

Oh my fellow Cullenites you make me so happy! Between discussions of noodle hair, sitcom cullen, Dean vs. Sam (uh Castiel and Crowley for this boy -uhmph! Seriously why is Crowley hot to me? The universe.... Weird place) the Dorian lovers and silly iron bull, cole, Cassandra, sera and mustache pictures, posting the devs amazing twitter comments, news updates and the awesome gifs and wonderful artwork y'all make and post.

I MISS AND LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I received some news from the doctors, and everything is a little touch and go so I wanted to post in case I can't for a while :)

I know I haven't been on twitter but was told in the chatroom I got many messages, I'll check it right now- I've just been really tired lately. They still won't let me escape the hospital lol!

But I'm excited for the Cullen reveal and thankful I made it to the point I'll get to see it! So help me -I will live to play this Damn game! I will see my kids graduate college and watch them get married too, and see my middle daughter rule the world and my oldest publish her fantastic poems! The little one is three so she's mostly just in love with Aladdin. I don't think it's gonna work out but whatever her dream ends up being I want to be there to say "of course you can! You're amazing!" All that stuff :D
I also have grand schemes of getting a house in my elder years with my partner and having too many cats and a ton of grandchildren of different races! Hannah baby we are gonna be neighbors. :D

But I want to say I do adore you guys. This thread and the 2.0 has made me smile and laugh for so long. I'm proud of your accomplishments and your talent and skills. I'm excited to read about your families and kids, how college is going for you and your thoughts on the world. The stories you write, drawings, 3D models and videos you are talented enough and brave enough to share are incredible and it's great you show us your passion.

I think it is so wonderful that many of you are patient and kind and welcoming to others. I wish I could get to know the new posters better but that may have to wait a bit. You are all so amazing and spectacular. I SHOULD be able to get on the chat, and Cassie will keep updates going for my chat buddies - but seriously to you chat guys-I really really love you. I want your dreams to come true and wish you absolute, shameless unabashed happiness, confidence, success and love. From just being able to talk to you more closely (and off topic) I know you deserve it, And I want it SO BADLY! Lol!
So my wonderful lovely friends I may not post for a while, or if things don't work out (they totally will, if you pray save them for others. I'll be fine and don't want to take anything away from people who need it more!) but this might end being one of my last ones. but JUST IN THE VERY UNLIKELY CASE it is, Cullenites, thank you. This and the other Cullen threads are so much more than an appreciation of a very hot, fascinating character. What made this a place I liked and like to stay was all of you.

Sorry it was sappy and long. Return to your normal schedule of posting sexy Cullen pictures, women Fangirling and hot men crying awkwardly. :D

I'm Captain Kirrahe and this is my favorite thread on the BSF. Hold the line for me while i'm away ;)

As much as I can't wait for them both be added, I wouldn't want both at once. They both deserve their own solo in the spotlight and besides, I don't do sharing :P
