Given the appalling way that the Celene/Briala relationship was handled in TME, and its continuation of damaging patterns within lesbian relationships in the series as a whole, I'm coming to the swift conclusion that Weekes' LGBT ally status, at least as expressed in media, is... at this point, highly questionable at least. Is anyone with me on this?
I'm afraid this is too spoilery for me, since I haven't finished the book yet. *lalala*not listening***
I live in Louisiana, so we get all Catholic holidays off
I think they get sent to Val Royeaux or something... or did I imagine that?
Hmm, I don't recall this, but could be. All I remember is the looney old templars at the Chantry in Denerim, poor dears. I thought they just would be made comfortable at their home Chantry/Tower/wherever until... I dunno, does lyrium dementia eventually kill you?
Oooh finally just noticed that my games appear under my name. However, I've never played ME3, why you there? lol
Did you add them manually in your profile? Go to "Edit Profile" (upper right of your profile) and then on that page at the bottom they'll give you "example" URLs for your game profiles that correspond to your actual profiles. Cut and paste those in the right boxes and save. The ME3 is a bug. I have it available in myprofile, too, eventho I don't own it.
Just reposting to see what others think of this.
This is pretty much how I imagine it. There was a templar in Denerim, who made me think of Alzheimer's desease, and his comrade said lyrium caused it. It makes me sad, actually, that Chantry does that to its most loyal servants, but I suppose they need to keep the templars on the leash as well as mages.
Seeing his future like you described it may be a big revelation for Cullen. It's one thing to know you, maybe, probably, will be a little bit crazy when you retire, but to face it should be quite powerful.
Oooh ooh, GE just retweeted something not DA related, but it does mean he's up and on Twitter. Mayhaps he will tweet something juicy soon?
Ah, good, Potato Cat is on it! Let us know!

That's honestly why I look forward to Cullen so badly. Fanfics have me so intrigued by the idea of him coming off of lyrium and the journey he'd go through, withdrawl considered. And if he'd have any sort of future to offer the Inquisitor. (Or, whatever, so maybe I'm hoping my Amell will dash in to get him. Don't judge k.) I'm totally taken by this concept.
And totally heartbroken by the grim future any templar has before them.

I doubt they'll let him tweet any more stuff abotu DA lol

Don't rely on me! I think I'm feeling a migraine coming on so I'm not going to be on the forums.
Ugh. So sorry! ![]()

It's ok, I've always got Twitter up, just in case I miss something important!

Before DAII I believed Cullen went a little bit crazy already
so I'm ready to all sorts of crazy things he may do if we lock him in a cave without lyrium for a week. (Like, singing!)
Kidding
Getting off lyrium, if it's even possible, is probably really difficult, painful and humiliating. Samson in DAII is a very sad example. But he's an old lonely man with no support, so maybe a templar who has friends to help him may have a chance to quit.
I thought the recording was supposed to happen on Friday?

See, that's why I'm so intent on romancing him, even if he does turn out to be just an NPC with a lackluster romance arc. I want the poor boy to at least have some happiness (no matter how fleeting) for once in his miserable existence. That's also the reason why I wanted him to be a companion, so that he could travel around with the Inquisitor 'n' co and experience life outside the confines of the Order.
Ok, this thread runs WAY. TOO. FAST. I go to sleep for a few hours and BOOM. ![]()
@Chanda - Yes, I agree with your thoughts. That's why I brought it up last night. I've always thought that it was quite shocking what the Chantry would do to keep the Templars under their control - more so when I still thought that the Lyrium was essentially uneeded and just to boost their powers, but even still it's a sad fate. I would be very interested to see it presented in game, especially if we have a Templar companion with us. *nudge nudge...bioware...*
I'd also be interested to know how the weaning off process would work, and if it even can for a Templar who's been taking it for as long as Cullen has. And if there would be any lingering effects?
@Lola & Chachi - Agree - it would be much easier to show this if he was a full fledged companion.

"LET ME LOVE YOU," cries out the Inquisitor, as she slowly pets his head. ???

LMAO! I think we've all been crying this for the last... Maker knows how many years! ![]()

And if someone tries to take him from us....
If the hate thread closes, and all the crazies flood over here.... we could always flee back to ol' bessy (the DA2 Cullen thread).
Had to be done with a setup like that...
I never tire of that. ![]()
