My point is that Cullen is in the same spot of Cassandra and Leliana at this point.
What would you want him on his development to have better opinion of him? He doesn't seem to hold the same views he had in DA2, and he might recognize the errors he made in the past. Granted, I don't think he'll be pro-mage, but I think we'll find him quite changed.

I don't think I could have a better opinion of him, to be frank. The way his arc played out in DA2, I see no real reason to trust him.

You don't have to,sometimes it's more fun when you don't like/trust all the characters in the cast,especially if they surprise you pleasantly by the end of the game.

I didn't trust Zevran and Nathaniel either at first nor Merril,but now I adore them!

It might grow within the game, I just don't see it happening right now.
