ROFL. "Cullen fans have united on social media using the hashtag #cullenites". All of the sudden, I feel watched  . But yes, absolutely right. I think I started to like the character when I played a female mage in DAO but there are other things I see in him. I think the guy has potential and I'm really looking forward to see another, more private side on him.
 

No, he isn't anymore. I can't believe I was half right since I suspected that he won't be a templar anymore. But I didn't see it coming that he might have left the order out of his own free will. "He is looking for something he can believe in" --> sounds to me as if he left the templars because he his abilities are of greater use in the inquisition. And because he is disappointed by the chantry/templars.
 
On an unrelated sidenote, is anyone else having trouble with their internet connection? Mine is incredible slow right now.

Makes me wonder what would happen if you ran the Inquisition in a way that he couldn't respect? I wonder if he'd leave?

I actually think he might.  It's something to consider. I'll just have to hope his judgement is sound and I can see eye to eye with man.

No way, man. I think lots of people are less knowlegable about Cullen because you can miss a lot about him so they only know him as, "the damned Templar who finally sucked it up in the end." So him as a military advisor with a lot of people who don't like the Templars are a bit irritated. I think they'll change their minds if they get to know him because he's a nice dude, I reckon.

Yeah I just tend to run away as soon as I see it. I'm not interested in recruiting people into my way of thinking tbh, people like what they like and that's fine. I just wanna be excited and don't wanna let haters get me down like they did with certain other love interests. 

 

I'm actually very surprised at how many people are excited though, I have loved Cullen since DAO and always felt kind of alone in my obsession lol. Glad to see I wasn't.

I liked the interview. Cullen's relationship with Leliana is the same as the latter has with Cassandra (not a surprise, since both Cass and Cullen prefer direct approaches). I think Cullen and Cassandra will be buddies .

I wonder if that whole "honest direct approach" is a hint on how to interact with Cullen in general... Probably the same deal with the romance, poor guy is kinda oblivious, LOL!

Well, I think one of the developers already confirmed that you can loose all of your companions (and advisors ??) except one. That's why I also think that Cullen might leave if you loose his respect. I just wonder how much it would take 'til that happens. After all, he has seen it all: demons, mages gone wild, templars gone mad and a lot of people who were fighting each other. My guess is that he won't be easily discouraged. I wonder what his reaction will be in the "save the village or save the scarhold" scenario (assumed that he has already joined the inquisition by then).

Yes, I agree.  He wants to be there, to contribute. I think you'd have to try really hard to make him leave.

I do wonder if he's more For the Greater Good, or For the Betterment of All. The interview makes me wonder. Because if he's the later, then there might be some issues between them.

I do have a minor concern in that he seems to have left the Order. I worry that we'll end up with the same situation as with Cerberus and the only good templar will be an ex-templar. With the Red Templars not being nuanced at all, I worry Cullen will be a stick to beat us over the head that pro-templar is bad.

  

I had that fear too, but I think we saw regular Templars at E3 in addition to the Red Templars. Even if We didn't, something made me sure we're getting actual Templars we can sympathise with.

Well, he still wears the insignia. I can't imagine him just being like, "I have nothing else to wear."
