Alright, new thread! Bit odd to look down and see we're only at page 2 

 

So excited to find out what Cullen's role will be regarding the Inquisitor, and getting to know him aside from what's going on at the moment.

Certainly!

 

Shadows of the Damned, he voiced Johnson. A floating demon skull with a dirty mouth and who turns into the biggest innuendo joke in the game.

 

Haunting Ground, he voiced Riccardo Belli. He's an arsehole.

I want to hear his input about the events that happened in Kirkwall and the whole chaos that followed after,between the templars and the chantry,as well as his opinion on the red templars.

I hate to think it, but I think Cullen's gonna get a lot of the flak over what happened in Kirkwall, if he even stayed w/ the templars that is. That guy doesn't need any more torturing, but I have a bad feeling that the Templars are going to putting a lot of the punishment and blame on him.

With the speculation going around that previous PCs might appear, I wonder how Cullen is going to react if he mets Surana/Amell again. The way he was talking about Amell in DA2 sounds wistful, I hope Cullen gotten over it.

Yup. I bet one side will make him the poster boy for rebellion while another paints him an insubordinate traitor.

Maybe, but in DA2 he had a shield & sword. Can they change that?

He was a two-hander in DA:O, so sure! I'd be pretty surprised if they changed his whole class from warrior to rogue, tho. That would take some 'splaining.

I always interpreted his remembering Amell as more "man, things were so much simpler back then" and "she was a good woman. We need more people like her around."

Since Amell/Surana could be a male, or not exist at all/be dead I guess if you didn't play as them, I don't think it's gonna be a huge deal. Also since it's pretty clear it was just a little crush he had on a mage he admired that was quickly squashed when he went through that horror at Kinloch Hold.

Agree. Especially if he's finally, genuinely romanceable this time around, I'd hope his dialogue would be focused on the present, not the past. 

 

I'm encouraged by what MLaw said at PAX, tho, about DA:I eschewing "token" cameos over meatier participation. Hopefully nods like this will be limited along with random "swooping is bad" comments and the like.

I'm actually really hoping that something happens. I couldn't begin to guess what, as I'm uncertain about Cullen's current moral stance on mages, but I hope it's there. ...Especially since my Amell became a blood mage.

Whatever his romance is like, I hope there's no 'healing with love/sex' trope that happens. Supporting him is one thing, healing him with magical sex is completely different. 

 

Seeing we're dealing with older characters, though. I'm hoping for a... more mature romance? It's kind of difficult to describe what I mean. *scratches chin*

I'm actually hoping his romance is more serious, and sweet. And that he's past most of his trauma. Not all of it, there's no fun in that.
