Hmm I think he is Vanilla to be honest, sweet and honest, but could be seen as boring or uninteresting to some despite it being a fan favorite . He's something you'd pick up either because he's your favorite or because you feel like getting something you know could be just what you want that day.

As someone who fought for marriage equality for my brother and my friends, as someone who has been shoved against the wall, and hit by homophobes while protesting and as someone who has been arrested for civil disobedience while protesting your statement really offends me.

 

Not every straight person is homophobic or Biphobic.

It's a crazy divisive issue and it escalates from calm discussion to raging argument really quickly.

Yes please.  I really considered this a fantastic thread until I saw the post assuming all straight people are homophobes. Thought that sort of thing was NOT allowed.

 

Really resent it being assumed that all straight people are homophobic considering how much I fought for my brother's right to marry his husband as well as for all my friends.

Reading the profile on Solas and the interview leads me to believe he will be Bi.  He just seems so open minded. I plan to have characters for him.

Being "open-minded" does not necessarily have an effect on someones sexuality or vice versa. But, as bramblefae said, lets just not discuss the sexualities too much until we know the sexualities of the companions for sure

I apologize if I offended you though. I was just bitter because of the outrage over Dorian and Sera's sexuality. I understand not all straight people are  homophobic considering I'm a straight person myself who support gay marriage/rights.

I do not think that is what Smiles was insinuating, but I am sorry you were hurt by it. I, myself, am bi and have a gf, so I just have some qualms with assuming anyone is anything just based on what you see on the surface. And please don't "shut up now", I am sorry that post made you feel unwelcome, but please please please don't let it prevent you from discussing here. Everyone is welcome here. No matter if they romance Cullen, or don't like Cullen, or love Cullen, everyone is part of the community here.

 

 

Thank you for understanding.   And yes while I do know there are homophobes since I have been physically attacked by them....I hate being lumped in.    I have always been an ally and will continue to be an ally.  My brother runs an LGBT Shelter and I just built two computers for him.    Not all straight people are shitstains.    The best of us will continue to fight as well as LISTEN.

I'm so relieved to see how accepting people are in here. 

 

First of all, I don't post a lot in here so maybe a bit on me, I'm a female and I'm a game development student. I also have 2 years of computer programming. I've become used to being the only female, or one of the only females in my classes (in the industry in general tbh). It's hard, we are laughed at, poked fun of, etc by some male students and sometimes even by the professors. It's something that irritates me, but I'm used to it and I'm determined to finish and become a game developer.

 

Having said that, I always play females. I LOVE being able to be a female, to the point where I rarely play games that don't allow me to be one. I occasionally will play a male for an LI that is unavailable for a female (STEVE =3, definitely Dorian). One of the reasons I backed out of the Anders fandom was because I was told how it "disgusted" someone when I posted a picture of a fem!hawke with Anders. I hate drama, so I just backed away. Some corners of the Kaidan fandom were the same way, so I mostly stayed out. But I really enjoyed being part of the Alistair fandom, and I miss that. 

 

As far as I go, I don't care who romances who with what gender. I just enjoy squeeing with people, talking about the characters, and not having to worry about offending someone just because I don't play my game the same as them. m/m, f/f, m/f, whatever, I have squeed over LIs with many who prefer both.
