Haven't read the book yet,but I doubt my inquisitor will want to get involved in their intrigues...But I suppose choosing a side and ending the civil war must be part of the storyline,so I guess it won't be optional.

There was a "leak" that said we'd have to go to a masked ball and choose whether to aid Celene or Gaspard or something like that... I forget the details.

Really I think they're just variants on equally bad.  It's just a question of which group you want worse off.  I don't really think this is a spoiler but I'll tag it anyway.

I don't hate Anora but I never really warmed to her either.  I don't get all angry that she 'betrayed' me at the Landsmeet or anything because it's a BIG ask to turn on your Dad but I just think she flat out had no claim to the throne.  She might believe she'd make a better ruler, hell she might even BE a better ruler but that's not how hereditary monarchy works.  So I've never made her sole ruler, I just think it would likely lead to civil war further down the line.

Lol, it's a case of picking the lesser of two evils. I've not read the book yet so I can't pass too much judgement, but I've had some say that Gaspard is the better of the two, and others say that Celene is.

Having read the book I really recommend that you do read it because it is not only interesting but...it's -well just read it. Your opinion will either stay the same or you will absolutely switch sides.

I suspected that it was Cailan who wasn't able to have kids and Anora got unfairly blamed for it.

That being said, I hope we don't have any further complications in Ferelden politics and the Theirin bloodline, like whether Maric's illegitimate son is more rightful a ruler than Maric's legitimate son's possible illegitimate heirs...

Cause if they pull that, screw it, I'm pulling this bus over, changing my answer and putting Anora or the Human Noble on the throne.

I think I remember reading that DG stated the Therein line would end with Alistair.

Attending a masked Ball I like the sound of that, but choosing a side in the civil war not so much...I guess I'll just wait for my copy of TME to see who my inquisitor will support in the end.

I was heavily leaning towards Briala, but things in the book make me hesitate to even support her.

I haven't read that before and it's really kind of BIG news.  Do  you remember where you saw it.

Good. I'm ready for the civil war between the Couslands and the Guerrins.

I'm not mad at her because she's a pixel... but she betrayed my Warden and after that happened, there was no friggin' way he was letting her anywhere near a position of power. Plus Alistair was his bestie, and he truly believed he'd make a wonderful and kind king. And Anora's dad killed Alistair's brother, and to be honest, she didn't seem all that broken up about it. He didn't like her from the get go.

My personal opinion on her is that I have no opinion on her because she has no character development lol She's a very minor NPC. Same with Cailan, except he happens to be kinda cute and has an adorable voice. "Glorious!" lol Such a tool. EDIT: My Dalish Warden though was super rude to him!

It's been quite some time ago and in the old forums which are, as you may know, a real pain in the arse to search for anything. It may have been in the Alistair Gush thread.

Hey guys, just a question that I'm curious to hear everyone's opinion on.  Do you think Cullen will have any strange little quirks (besides paranoia)?

For some reason I see him being an obsessive cleaner.  At least that'll explain what he'll be up to if he's stuck at our keep  :)

We had a fun little crackpot theory that Cullen's last name was Therin. (ABSOLUTE CRACK THOUGH NOT FOR SRS.) Ah, drama.

That's just silly.

His last name is Mac Tir. His mother, Queen Rowan, gave him his father's name after birthing him in secret.

Yeah I remember seeing that too, tried looking for it a while ago and couldn't find it.

I also remember he said something about there only being two sons or two children of Maric.

I have played a lot of city elves and mages so my reasoning was that Anora as Queen had done little to support these groups throughout her reign.  I believed that my character would have far greater influence over Alistair than they would ever have over Anora and so she was of little value as Queen to them.

My Cousland just flat out hated her and Loghain because of their involvement with Howe and the treatment of her family.  If allowed to she would have executed her alongside Loghain.

Wow,are you in mind mind or something?Seriously though one of the very few headcanons I have for Cullen is that he's an obsessive cleaner and keeps his closet perfectly organized...I don't know why though. :D

Oh I didn't hate Cailan... I just found him to be the "Bad-Boy" if you will. At least that's the vibe I got from him. Especially when compared to sweet little Alistair... :D

Hmmm, I wonder what a human-qunari halfbreed would look like. Taller-than-average-human grey-skinned person, perhaps with horns....

What? Oh, just day-dreaming what Ashtal's little Cullets would look like.

Here's my best attempt

I like her as well. Her and hardened Alistair on the throne is (in my opinion) the best solution.
Not that it matters, since that regardless of the choice it seems there won't be a direct heir from either Alistair, Anora or both. A civil war seems very likely (with the contenders being the ones I nominated before).

Another reason I don't make Alistair king is just in case he ends up getting a taste for women. My Warden would not be pleased to discover that he'd got a bunch of lovers on the side.
