Another reason I don't make Alistair king is just in case he ends up getting a taste for women. My Warden would not be pleased to discover that he'd got a bunch of lovers on the side.

You mean like a secret Harem? :o I'm staring to regret my decision to make him king...

I like her as well. Her and hardened Alistair on the throne is (in my opinion) the best solution.
Not that it matters, since that regardless of the choice it seems there won't be a direct heir from either Alistair, Anora or both. A civil war seems very likely (with the contenders being the ones I nominated before).

I find that on the playthroughs where I'm a F!Noble I haaaate her... but when I play as any other character, I don't mind her (and sometimes even really like her). Especially if I'm not romancing Alistair.

Sooo, DA IV - Ferelden civil war? :)

Was your Warden his lover or queen?

Huh. I liked both Anora and Cailan, so... *shrug* All of my playthroughs have Anora and a hardened Alistair ruling together.

I doubt (and I'd prefer not) that the next game would be focused on Ferelden. It's time to travel to the North.
But I definitely see anothe civil war in Ferelden. Couslands FTW, by the way .

Neither, I kept him as a Warden for that precise reason. My Warden didn't want to be a Queen and certainly wouldn't tolerate being the King's mistress. Plus, Alistair said he didn't want to be King (despite the comics changing his mind years later) so both of them stayed together as Wardens.

I agree that that's the best solution as well (aside from a King/Queen Cousland), but I almost never do it. In my canon I kept him a warden and let Anora keep the crown. Mostly out of the fact that I didn't harden Alistair and he never wanted to be a king anyway, so, /shrugs.

I wasn't gonna make him do it.

If the warden is Alistair's lover, I can't see him deciding to get freaky with the castle maids. Maayybbe a hardened solo king Alistair who is single, but even then.

I wasn't gonna risk it either way. Couldn't be sure the cheating wasn't hereditary and I don't trust DG!

Wow,are you in mind mind or something?Seriously though one of the very few headcanons I have for Cullen is that he's an obsessive cleaner and keeps his closet perfectly organized...I don't know why though. :D

I know right! Honestly, it must just be something about him.  Hmm, images popping up in my head of Cullen hopping around a huge library dusting all the books in an apron  :P it's these times when I realise I really should start going to bed earlier haha  :D

What did he say in the comics exactly? It's strange. Even as hardened he didn't want to be king. He's ready to fight Anora for the throne, and to not let her do what she wants if he agreed to the marriage, but he didn't want to be king.

My Female Human Noble would only be mad if she wasn't invited to be part of the tryst, much how she'd be annoyed if he got it on (again) with Isabela at some point during Silent Grove, since she wouldn't have been included and he hadn't asked her first.

And why do I suspect that Cullen's last name (or first) is simply... Cullen.

Cullen's father: You're a Cullen! Like me, and like my father and his father before him! All the way back to Cullen Cullenson himself!

Cullen: My family aren't particularly imaginative with names...

I think they make a strong leadership team but I don't usually go down that route.  I guess I've always thought it was just a matter of time before Orlais takes advantage of the blight and invades again.  I wanted to keep Alistair unmarried so that I could head cannon in an alliance with Nevarre to keep Orlais at bay for a while.  I love a bit of politics in my fantasy.

If you don't harden him I absolutely agree that he shouldn't be king, either alone or with Anora. He'd just be a puppet of her (or Eamon if he's the sole ruler).
I can see why people wouldn't make him king. Being a Wardens is good path for him.

I don't think Alistair would fool around that much even if hardened and single. He just doesn't seem the type.

Did comic Alistair sleep with Isabela? I've read only a little but some people here describing the comic make it seem like yes.

When he was in the Fade he had a dream where he was with his father hunting as the King or future King or something. Up until that point apparently he made it seem like he wasn't keen on being King (because that's the canon they went with in the comics) but then Varric calls him out on it and tells him that he won't allow himself to admit that he enjoys being King and deep down always wanted it (or something). Alistair doesn't deny it.

He didn't seem the type to just toss away my warden for his 'duty', either. But that never stopped him! >:( *angry feels coming back from so long ago*

Naw, he didn't. Although in the Fade he did flirt with her a little when he thought (in his dream) that he'd been brought up by his father as his legitimate son (it was like he'd swapped places with Calian, I guess).
