So much talent! @-@ Jeez people.

Random question time! Would you rather Cullen be a companion or do you think the advisor aspect will be more interesting?

I really love companions because you get to drag them around in battle, but after thinking about it, it might be cool to see how interactions go. They do have the same budget, so assuming they have the same amount of content, they will have to implore their banter and such some other way. I think that will be a nice change for me personally because whenever the LI is a companion I tend to drag them along EVERYWHERE, and knowing now that who you bring to certain situations makes a difference, I think it is for the best. I might actually change my companion group make-up! *le gasp*

Feel free to share your thoughts!

I'd still prefer him to be a companion, but being an advisor is the next best thing... it's more than we were expecting to get anyway.

I'm fine either way. Being an advisor makes him lose something in the traveling department, but he gains points in the relevance to the game.

I believe they said it was also possible to run into your Advisors doing their own thing in the world which I think is really cool!

Did any of you submit questions for the Q&A?

I asked about the new Focus bar. Also about spell trees and specializations.

You get ALL THE LIKES for the Jamie/Claire gif.

 *nom nom nom likes* A balanced breakfast includes lots of likes.

I had to add that gif because 1: I can't wait for that show and must share the love with everyone. 2:Jamie looks a bit Cullen-esque to me in it and Claire's hair is at least the right color for my first Quizzy 3: It is similar to my dreams of a Cullen love scene just cue epic DA score in the background. :)

As much as I would love for Cullen to be a companion, I'm kinda glad he's an advisor. I also bring my LI with me everywhere, but part of the fun of RPG's for me is figuring out different class and party compositions, and since I always bring my LI with me I usually end up getting locked into a certain playstyle to accommodate them. So I'm pretty excited for being able to switch things around a bit more and experiment.

:o I didn't know what who you bring to certain situations can make a difference, so that just kinda sweetens the deal for me. Plus, I kinda like the idea of my LI doing their own thing while I'm off doing mine. Kinda like in a real relationship, you know? You don't always need to be attached at the hip, cause then I find you run outta things to talk about since they were there with you anyway. Plus, I also want to see how the writers have implemented the NPC romances, since they have the same word budget but interact with us differently. The narrative designer in me is dying to know!

I would prefer him as a companion cause i like to take the LI everywhere, but it seems Cullen will have an important role as an advisor so i`m ok with that too. Honestly i`m just grateful he is in game and a romance option :).

I just asked if we'd be able to go into first person, because that would be cool to do sometimes. For screenshots, for archery, etc.

I'm really curious about that too!

I'm someone who plays all the classes, but the Mage is my least played. So, I'm really curious to see more about the Mage because I want to like it more than I do.

I asked if we'd run into Jowan, if there is a difference between the human mage and the human rogue's backstories, and if making most of the in-game Keeps mercantile will lock-out some interactions with Leliana.

I'm just ecstatic that he will be in the game and more than a mission here or there. I love taking a LI on missions, they never leave my side, but adviser might give Cullen a chance to shine.  I'm worried that I might screw up and get him captured or tortured like that bit with Leilana in the trailer. I will have to make several save files or I will be curled in the fetal position, sobbing and broken.

If I have learned anything through all my years of playing Bioware games, it's to save often and obsessively. *shakes fist at Noveria and Peak 15 from Mass Effect 1*

I usually have at least two "active" saves going at any given time--one at the hub before I actually start a mission, and then one that I actually use during a mission, although sometimes I may end up creating more than one. And then I always save before talking to squaddies, mostly so if I get some awesome dialogue then I can revisit it again later  :D

I would love to drag Cullen with me everywhere! Because during the PAX demo (I think?) Mike Laidlaw said that when we drag companions with us, they will stop, point at something interesting, and say what they think about it. And it would be awesome to have such interactions with Cullen. Sten had those in DAO, and I loved them. And I love fighting together too, because that's when I can headcanon various romantic and badass things happening.

But at the same time I love that Cullen has all that power now, and that his soldiers love him, and he's so important, and BAMF, and everyone relies on him. I love that he has his own role, and he's a leader, and he doesn't just follow us, he also does something we can't! I can see how it can make the relationships more intense and interesting. Because you are not just war-married, you have to work on that relationship; you don't spend all your time together, so you have to use those moments, that you have, wisely. And the potential for fan art and fan fiction is huge! I like potentials, I fill them with art  =]

I would have prefered him as a companion. The party banter he might have gotten with Dorian or Varric could have been great. I hope that there is still some banter there even if Cullen is not in the party. Someone else mentioned Mass Effect the other day. For instance, Garrus could speak with Joker. That's why I hope that the companions will somehow be able to interact with the advisors in a similar way.

Another reason why I would have loved Cullen in the party is the drama, of course. Can you imagine to fight the final battle against te archedemon in DAO without Alistair? I think it adds a lot if the characters that are important to your inquisitor are there with him/her when the crunch comes.

Edit: But that doesn't mean that I'm ungrateful. I'm over the moon that he is in the game at all.

Did any of you submit questions for the Q&A?

I asked if the advisors will stay with Inquisitor, no matter what you do or if there is a way how you could lose them.

Preach! I feel your pain. I'm insane about saves for the same... exact... reason T_T and I even do it when I have an autosave on just to be doubly sure. Plus  before great scenes I want to see again or because I picked the wrong dialogue choice. :D

I'm out of likes soooooo.

10AM to 5PM PDT, which translates, for me, from 12PM to 7PM.

I don't know how a Q&A can last that long. Like, how many questions would that take? Like, one question answered every five minutes? That's still eighty-four questions.

Ah you people are making me sad again with Cullen isn't companion feels!! I thought I was already over those but now I'm here.. no party banters   no customisation :( no fighting whole game with your LI in your side! :crying:

Buuut.. it seems like advisors play large part as in the game as well. Probaply even larger than some companions (those that we mostly leave in the keep). I should be happy for getting Cullen in the game and this time in our side, eager to serve and have sweet romance with our quizzys and he even seems to be written in direction I was thinking he'd go after DA2 :)

There is the link! Yep, 10am-5pm PDT. 0-0

(side note: Totally irrelevant, but looking through there are a butt ton of 'will Varric be a LI' questions!)
