This isn't really the time to have that argument. People are hurting. Lecturing them for having guessed something incorrectly is not the appropriate response.

Got this back in April:  And letting you know what a little birdie told me; Cullen in DA:I is definitely, absolutely, without a doubt a bisexual romance. Enjoy! (tho plz keep this to yourself until anything official about this is out ;3;)

 

I guess something must have changed between April and now?

 

In hindsight, as much as I really wanted it I really couldn't find anything that would have him interested in guys. But hey, it is what it is.

Reading Solas's bio made me think he was a better fit for that slot, but I'd hoped for the people here he was straight.

The pessimist in me thinks Solas won't be romanceable at all. Especially since Mike (I think) said not all companions will be. :S I hope he is, though!!!

Oh, I was so busy reading the different questions over at Raptr but I completely overlooked that they announced Cullen's sexuality. The people who wanted him bi have my sympathy.

Well, it's not like Cullen as a love interest wouldn't be available for female inquisitors. It was a given.

 

And so-called sources are frequently wrong, even if by accident.

You can talk to followers at base whenever you like. But at base, not in the middle of a blood-soaked murderfield (of death). --Laidlaw

 

(^ I like this. I think it's the best of both games. Talking in the middle of the deep roads didn't seem like a great idea in DAO, but in 2 it sucked to talk to them like 3 times in a year.)

Are you kidding? I put 2 1/2 years of my life into this fandom, and other than the great people I met, it's been a colossal waste of time. I worked myself up over a character I can't romance. You think I'm going to hang around here and watch everyone else squee and gush over him (as they SHOULD)? No way. That's too f*cking painful. It means too much for me. It's already starting to sink in and my throat is getting tight, and that's still with the shock still in place.
 
So I will have to cut ties with this fandom and try to make a home somewhere else... but I've learned my lesson; I'll wait to hear confirmation on the other characters' sexuality so I don't fall in love with someone else (not likely since I don't like any of the options except maybe Blackwall). God this practically kills the game for me. 
 
I'll keep in touch on Twitter and via PM and elsewhere It's been fun!

Hey seriously now, don't leave i know you've been in this fandom for way more then I have but still... its no reason to leave.

I know you like the character just as mush as we do, but you can STILL romance him it may not be with the gender that you prefer, and you probably wont enjoy it as much... but hey thats what the imagination is there for! Heck I thought Dorian was Bi but he turned out to be gay.. and even tho I prefer to play as my own gender if I like a character enough i would suck it in and play as something else .. and as I said it may not feel the same as the gender as you intended to play in the 1st place but you still  get that "satisfaction" 

 

So please dont leave its not worth it to leave because of this I know it meant a lot to you but you are a part of us

I second that a 1000 times!! Don't leave, Artemis . Maybe take a time out, but it would be so sad if this is going to ruin all the fun you had here  .

well i'm not surprised by this announcement, i still intend to play no matter what, now i just need to see what gets announced next, i'm really looking forward to this game still, and can't wait to explore the multi regional open world and all the companions

 

Same here.  And yes it sucks.  I can't romance Dorian as a female...I plan to romance him with a male.   I will roll a female for Sera. I plan to get my money's worth.

 

It does suck but I am not surprised.  The minute they said there would be a new game engine...I KNEW everything would be different from DA2.      BioWare NEVER does the same thing.

 

They said there would be romances for EVERYBODY whether you are gay, Bi, or Straight. 

 

You cant get everything you want in the real world and I never expected to be catered to in Inquisition.

Its not about that. They stated romances would be for EVERYBODY....whether you are gay, bi, or straight.

This news is just so upsetting right now. Based from what I've seen, barely any Cullen fans object to him being bi. It's usually just the haters want him to be straight just so they could see people "riot" or to see others sad that they can't romance him. This is so disappointed.

i still thought they would make him like Kaidan...and i thought that dragon age was released kinda a long time ago and having more than 2 characters of non-traditional sexuality was a bit overwhelming for that times(who i am kidding still is sometimes) was the reason to make Cullen interested in only female mage. 

I am afraid to sound shallow and not caring for anything but romance, i care about everything in the game, it just happens that romance is an important feature to me. I always play as male and only Cullen attracted me with his appearance( Dorian is not bad, but still not my thing) and with only Dorian on the table im sure i wont be willing to make more than one playthrough...Then why did i pre-order it in the first place,better cancel and wait for some time then maybe play it
