I think they're given a generic last name. After all, Gaider tweeted a lot time ago about it.
And now that I think of, that tweet might mean he's not written by him. Gaider's tweet shown that he discovered Cullen's name, so that he read some other writer's on Cullen.

Yeah, it was back before or around when Tonia left, back when we thought she was writing him. Could still be consistent with the rewrite idea... although, I still personally doubt Cullen's the rewrite.

Thanks R2, I knew that DG had nixed the possible conception of the FCousland Therin heir but I was surprised to hear that Alistair would be infertile with a non grey warden partner. I'm pleased it isn't so.

Mistress Warden for the win. Al can have his heirs and we can continue to shag him. Not ideal for whoever's Queen but if someone's got to be unhappy I'd rather it wasn't me!

I always wondered if the fertility issue was simply dependent on the amount of time one had been Tainted for, much like how Corypheus was able to possess Larius/Janeka as the senior Warden present when he was killed, and why Anders was able to hear his Call when Warden Bethany/Carver couldn't.

 

I'd much prefer it Alistair and F!Wardens were still able to conceive because both had been Wardens for less than a year, yet after that first year, the chance of conception would drop rapidly. C'mon, throw us a bone, writers!

 

And Morrigan/Alistair would be amusing and semi-canon if you get Alistair to do the DR. And it makes sense, since I seriously felt those two needed to have some angry sex to get all that belligerent sexual tension out of their system.

I always have Cullen there. But apparently there's some standard order/conditions they show up in. I don't recall what it is, but for ex, I've never gotten Merrill to show up ever.

I used to ship them (perhaps out of anger that I couldn't romance either of them with my preferred PC) but after awhile I started to realize that they genuinely did not like each other. The thought of them together now kinda squicks me, but I totally get the pairing, and you could definitely headcanon that it was sexual tension between them.

 

Only time I draw the line at the whole "the really do want each other" idea is Fenders Nope, just can't do it! But I know it's popular, and I can see why... it's HAWT lol
