Anyway, still gutted about Cullen being straight. One of the reasons why I love this thread is that it's always buzzing with variety of fans, bringing different perspectives, creativity and fun. I can understand reasons behind withdrawing from the thread when being massively disappointed, still I will miss those guys and I hope they will pop in every now and again.
Really? I need to catch up! Although I'm not surprised (I had a feeling it was this way - not sure why) but I feel for those who can't romance him as a male toon.
Hopefully someone can make a mod so they can

Ahh missed so much today... anything exciting (I know about Josephine
) that's been discovered? Not sure I want to read 50+pages
There are 8 romances. Josie is bi and not racegated. Cullen and Cassandra are straight. Um... I don't remember anything else at the moment but serenai made this with the Q&A. Also Chachi is making one.

Oh! We also know the other voices for the inquisitor!! Sumalee Montano is the American female inquisitor, Jon Curry (who was also Zevran) is the American male inquisitor and Harry Hadden-Paton is the British male inquisitor!

Wow, I guess yesterday was an odd day to be away from the forums. I'm SO sorry to those negatively affected by the Cullen reveal yesterday. I'm so sad that we've lost some folks from our community.
I hope everyone finds a place where they're happy and can share about some part of the game they enjoy.
I see that you are catching up with the thread as well. I so love the kitty hug and I'm out of likes, so big virtual kitty hug for all.

Awesome! I love your devious Josephine! And Cullen with swagger!
Mad giggles here my dear.
And don't worry about not following the prompt. That was wonderful!

It seems that yesterday all hell went lose and the dams collapsed, flooding us with news. And here I was, thinking that I could skip the event, since I assumed they would mostly keep to standard answers, we all know by know. Boy, was I wrong? Still recuperating, especially that I spent last few hours trying to catch up.
Anyway, still gutted about Cullen being straight. One of the reasons why I love this thread is that it's always buzzing with variety of fans, bringing different perspectives, creativity and fun. Bitter-sweet feeling at this moment, with the excitement of finally finding out about
ScribblesJosephine. She's absolutely gorgeous and we finally know her name. And we have 8 LIs. And we know the voice actors for our Inquisitors. I must admit I am very curious about Jon Curry and whether I will hear a bit of Zev in his voice.
Oh, and Vamp having a little sprogglet! All the feels.
Part of me is a little bummed that Cullen is straight, as well, but the other part of me thinks that it's better this way. Can you imagine the outrage? A lot of people would start talking complaining again about some of the characters being player-sexual (which wouldn't be the case), and how Cullen is one piece of fanservice. Hopefully Cullen's fans will remain fans even though the romance aspect for their Bi/Gay Inquisitors is out for them. ![]()
I agree, Josephine is so very gorgeous! I also love her strong diplomatic strengths. My first Inquisitor might be too tempted during my first playthrough.
I definitely hope we won't be hearing Zev in our male Inquisitors. It would be too distracting for me. But I'm thrilled about Miss Montano's VO.
@Boom-that was a great little fic! I'd love to read more of your work, if you're willing to share links. ![]()

Nah, Cullen fans are used to hate so we'd take it on our chests. But what's done is done, so I'm moving on.
I admit that I've had a momentary temptation when I saw Jos, but I know that when I see&hear Cullen I will be all over him
But everything in good time. Funnily enough, I absolutely looove female LIs. I was waiting for Cass (and kinda hoped that she'd be bi so I could be lazy and play femQuizzy over and over again), I adore Sera and Jos. Yeah, my multiple pts will be in the name of love ;]
And yes, I am super exited about American VO for lady Inquisitor. i am not sure who I will play yet but I'm trying to play with ideas to match AWR and SM.

I love that Josephine isn't a warrior of any sort and that she's literally just a regular person with very good diplomatic skills and high intelligence. I'm gonna try super hard to play the game properly and choose fairly between the advisors advice and proposals. As tempting as it'll be to take Cullen's advice all the time, I know I wouldn't do that in real life, and since I'm playing as myself I know thaf I was in the Inquisitor's situation I'd pick the person/option most suitable in each quest to get what I'd consider to be the right outcome. For example, I wouldn't send Cullen in to smooze politicians when I know Josephine is more skilled in such things.
I just hope it doesn't lock us out of too much interaction/dialogue with each.

Her name is Amethyne and you'll find her in the Alienage of Denerim. You don't do anything with her unfortunately. She sits there wondering where her mother went to. ![]()

Interesting read about there bwing 8 romances and 2 racegated. I wonder which 2 will it be? Maybe Varric?
I also found this very interesting: -
Q: Are there romance options outside of companions or advisor
A: Yes at least 1 that I know of (?)

Yeah a lot of people have been guessing Varric and Cullen. Personally I hope the racegating will be limited to one race because I never like the idea of people missing out on their crushes (and yes including me xP).
As for the one outside of the group, maybe Dagna or Celene? Maybe someone completely new?

Right now I'm thinking f!qunari rogue for Cullen, f!human rogue for Josephine, and m!human mage for Dorian. No interest in Sera, Cass, or IB.

I don't think it'll be as simple as that, since it's pretty obvious that Josephine will be the best choice in that situation no matter what.
I came up with a scenario in the then Scribbles thread that I think will be more like the choices we get in game. So say we have an influential and powerful Orlesian Duke who's opposed to the Inquisition, we could send in Josie to diplomatically assuage him of any ill thoughts about the Inquisition. However, we might also be able to assassinate him, thereby replacing him with his pro-Inquisition daughter. And I suppose Cullen could suggest we just take his men by brute force. Each one could have different pros and cons. For example, Josie could be best when we're just starting out and our Inquisition is still weak, however the Duke still only gives us a fraction of his men. Leliana's option would turn his daughter against us if we're still weak, this creating a powerful enemy for the Inquisition, but grant us a valuable ally if we're strong as the new Duchess gives us a larger percentage of her forces. Finally, Cullen's option will mean we have all the Duke's army under our control, but turns much of the Orlesian nobles against us as well as the villagers in the same region.

I'm hoping Cullen isn't race-gated. He's already gender-gated, seems sad to make his romance even more restricted.

That's exactly how I feel, I can't plan on how I'm going to play the game or haven't decided which advisory branch I would prefer to use because I think each quest could call for a different decision and what's right for one could be the absolutely worst for another. So I will just be playing it by ear with no great strategical plan and just do what I think would work out best for each one.I love that Josephine isn't a warrior of any sort and that she's literally just a regular person with very good diplomatic skills and high intelligence. I know, I was just using a basic example. My point was that I'd be tempted to pick ALL Cullen ALL the time, just because it's him and we've been starved of interaction with him for so long, lol.

If this is happening now, I hate to think of what will happen after the game comes out and we have thoroughly discussed "in-game" Cullen. This thread will eventually die, and I'll lose all you Cullenite friends.
Well, it didn't happen after DA2, so I don't think there's any need to worry on that account.

Great example. I also thought that different situations may favour different solutions. I hope that diplomatic is not by default the best option since it would dampen my spirit. I don't usually play diplomatic characters but I like to dip in some politics every now and then. Who knows, maybe Jos will persuade my Quizzy at least few times :]

Thank you for the link! I look forward to reading your fic:D
It's good to write outside of your comfort zone, oftentimes this is how we grow as writers, so your confidence isn't the only thing benefiting. I'm sure it's not as bad as you think without the editing, but I totally understand!

And yes, I am super exited about American VO for lady Inquisitor. i am not sure who I will play yet but I'm trying to play with ideas to match AWR and SM.
I imagine whenever I play as a female Inquisitor, with a goal of romancing anyone other than Cullen, it will be rather difficult to do so (despite Miss Josephine's loveliness and what we know of her character so far). Whenever I played a F!Shep, I almost always ended romancing Garrus. I had to really put on blinders to romance Liara.
I love that Josephine isn't a warrior of any sort and that she's literally just a regular person with very good diplomatic skills and high intelligence. During my first playthrough (at least) I'll also be playing as myself, so I imagine I'll want to make a lot of diplomatic decisions/actions. I hadn't thought about the possibility of being locked out of interaction/dialogue depending on whose advise we listen to the most-though it seems like a very real and obvious possibility. Hopefully, you can just seek the advisers on your own whilst on your Hold, like the campsite, and won't miss much. I'll keep my fingers crossed >.<

Aaaah my feels! D: That's just awful-the Alienage part of the game is sad enough. It'll be even worse next time I play, because it will somehow be a little more personal.

Well, it didn't happen after DA2, so I don't think there's any need to worry on that account.
I actually calculated that I will have roughly a minimum of 400 hours of game play with 4 different characters which will result in various different paths so if we all do that, we should have I say about 5 years worth of Cullen discussions after DA:I. And that's not including art and fics. That's another 20 years, so I guess we will all be chatting it up in here until we are well past old and grey ![]()
