Seems I missed more than just the character reveals. I'm sad to see people are ducking out of the community, but I understand why. It would be difficult to share enthusiasm when there's one aspect of it they can't join in on, and seeing other people gush over the romance while they, themselves, can't... that wouldn't be a good feeling. 
 
Still, I love, love, love Josephine! I will need a boy or a girl for her! Not sure which, yet. Maybe a female elf? I don't have a female elf planned quite yet, so maybe I'll make my female elf just for her. 
 
And wow! Eight options!
 
I'm going to have so many playthroughs for this game. Perhaps even more than one 'canon'!
 
I feel the need to apologise to those disappointed too, I was one of the ones who was 'certain' Cullen would be bisexual so that everyone would have an NPC option. It seems that didn't work out, though.

I suspect for the first time ever I'll have trouble picking a canon Inquisitor... which will be tricky because I prefer to have just one, lol.

Well I wanted my Qunari female for IB if he was to be an option and if not I was going to pair her up with Sera. Me too, I'm so excited to play as Qunari and to see what we can do with their features and their HORNS but not to forget, I'm also really interested in seeing how you will get treated by the world as a Qunari, should be very interesting.

I will have SO much trouble choosing. 

 

Not only between which race/class I want as my canon but also romances. Cullen, Dorian, Josephine, Cassandra, Varric if he's an option...! I just want all the things, but I can't have all the things in one playthrough. 

 

They should add a harem option.

I'm holding out hope that the "outside romance" is a Kelly Chambers / Sebastian type thing rather than one of the 8. As people on the romance thread have noted, it seems hard to believe that someone who isn't a companion or advisor will be able to have as much content as those who are. I'll put in my guess for Ser Michel and Briala as possible non-Inquisition romances.

My list, (including them all together since they all have similar budgets):

Vivienne - she's just so beautiful and perfect! She's exactly what I want in a LI and a friend and I generally think she's bloody brilliant.
Cullen - been waiting for Cullen for years now. He's definitely one of the most interesting characters in my opinion, and his scar is certainly a big part in my attraction for him. Canon Inquisitor romance for sure.
Josephine - she's adorables and Antivan to boot! If Vivienne is not a LI, Josephine will definitely help heal the hole in my heart.
Sera - once again, she's adorable, and I've had her picked out as my bezzie mate since the survey leak. The only thing worrying me about her is the fear she won't like my Inquisitor.
Cole - I'm very interested in this guy now, which is weird considering I really did not like him throughout Asunder and my first two Inquisitors won't accept his help.
Iron Bull - the fact he's still Qunari makes me giddy, clearly a lot internal struggle here. Only let down by the fact he seems to be another 'shag all the things' bisexual
Cassandra - I'd be a lot more excited for her if I knew I could romance her. But she's still great, and this is still a relatively high spot in my list.
Leliana - she really surprised me in the E3 demo. The personality shift from Origins is really intriguing and I love where her character is going. I also didn't realise how much I loved her until I saw her in the demo.
Solas - now things are looking a lot bleaker. Honestly, the only thing keeping me interested in Solas is the new information that he's apparently Welsh, and I have a MASSIVE thing for Welsh accents. Other than that? Pretty bored by him to be honest.
Dorian - same problem. I'm not really seeing any huge character flaws apart from his idealism, which can still be considered a good thing. I suppose perhaps if he's blindly idealistic, but that would only serve to annoy me further to be honest. Only good thing is his relationship with Vivienne which sounds very much like me and my best friend.
Varric - never cared for him in DA2, don't really care now.
Blackwall - only so low because I think his true interest is all spoiler and hasn't been given away yet. Right now though, he's pretty much a generic paladin-type to me. But I know my opinion of him will no doubt change if Sheryl Chee is writing him.

On Cullen's name/nationality, his DAO CHR file also says he's Fereldan. On the name, DG could be trolling us, but gut says he was teasing us ... Meaning there is a last name but we won't find out til the game. Is he a noble then? The devs have said most people don't have them and it's typically just nobles. But that isn't an absolute rule and there are specific examples contradicting this. So I think the jury is just out for Cullen until we learn his story.

We've long speculated that the reason we learn his last name is because he doesn't have a Templar title anymore. Something like Varric calls him "Knight captain Cullen," and Cullen says, "No, it's Cullen Baker now." Or whatever. Whatever the case, I hope it has a story!

I don't think he has to be in your party and controllable to come along on a quest. He didn't in the Wilmod quest, for ex.

I'd say it could be a possibility that the Advisors may have a personal quest each like companions or there could be certain missions that you meet up with them on that are important to their story arc. Or he just played DAO and DA2 and is trolling

They are very cagey about his last name.  Man, what if he is related to some noble? Or an illegitimate son of Maric? Goldanna's real brother? (There's gotta be someone out there who is. Unless that baby died. What? It's my favorite crack-theory.)

 True. I suppose it could also mean the quest where you enlist him as well.

Yeah this would make more sense since you probably won't be having constant contact with someone outside of your companions/advisors so it could just be a romance on the side rather than one of the 8. Do you know if it was worded specificly "there are 8 romances and one of those 8 will be neither a companion nor an advisor"?
