Soooo, if advisers can not join as a companion as they said yesterday - what was ML referring to when he said he had just finished a major Cullen based story arc?
I imagine it will be a lot like what we saw with Leliana...
Cullen meets with us when we get to an area and explains quest objectives, then goes on on his own and we run into him again at certain quest points and/or when confronting the villain in that area. Then we head to Skyhold to have a chat with Cullen and decide what we have to do next...repeat
My thoughts have always been that Cullen asks us to do a personal mission for him, but that he wasn't going to physically be there.
They are very cagey about his last name. Man, what if he is related to some noble? Or an illegitimate son of Maric? Goldanna's real brother?(There's gotta be someone out there who is. Unless that baby died. What? It's my favorite crack-theory.)
I hope Cullen isn't Goldanna's real brother. Poor boy has had enough trouble in his life. My theory is Goldanna is a lying witch and knew there was never a baby with her mother and that was what she was originally paid to keep her mouth shut about. When Alistair showed up, she decided to try to milk him for more rather than tell the truth because she knew Eamon wouldn't tell him. But the baby dying at the same time Alistair shows up is a good theory

That had never even occurred to me. Ser Michel....Oh. You know, I was thinking about how many times I'm gonna have to play through this game to do and see all the things (and people. *cue 12 year old guffaw*) I want to. I'll be playing this for the next five years.
There's a good thread on the forums now asking you list the companions you're most excited for and I'd love to hear all your opinions!

My list, (including them all together since they all have similar budgets):
Vivienne - she's just so beautiful and perfect! She's exactly what I want in a LI and a friend and I generally think she's bloody brilliant.
Cullen - been waiting for Cullen for years now. He's definitely one of the most interesting characters in my opinion, and his scar is certainly a big part in my attraction for him. Canon Inquisitor romance for sure.
Josephine - she's adorables and Antivan to boot! If Vivienne is not a LI, Josephine will definitely help heal the hole in my heart.
Sera - once again, she's adorable, and I've had her picked out as my bezzie mate since the survey leak. The only thing worrying me about her is the fear she won't like my Inquisitor.
Cole - I'm very interested in this guy now, which is weird considering I really did not like him throughout Asunder and my first two Inquisitors won't accept his help.
Iron Bull - the fact he's still Qunari makes me giddy, clearly a lot internal struggle here. Only let down by the fact he seems to be another 'shag all the things' bisexual
Cassandra - I'd be a lot more excited for her if I knew I could romance her. But she's still great, and this is still a relatively high spot in my list.
Leliana - she really surprised me in the E3 demo. The personality shift from Origins is really intriguing and I love where her character is going. I also didn't realise how much I loved her until I saw her in the demo.
Solas - now things are looking a lot bleaker. Honestly, the only thing keeping me interested in Solas is the new information that he's apparently Welsh, and I have a MASSIVE thing for Welsh accents. Other than that? Pretty bored by him to be honest.
Dorian - same problem. I'm not really seeing any huge character flaws apart from his idealism, which can still be considered a good thing. I suppose perhaps if he's blindly idealistic, but that would only serve to annoy me further to be honest. Only good thing is his relationship with Vivienne which sounds very much like me and my best friend.
Varric - never cared for him in DA2, don't really care now.
Blackwall - only so low because I think his true interest is all spoiler and hasn't been given away yet. Right now though, he's pretty much a generic paladin-type to me. But I know my opinion of him will no doubt change if Sheryl Chee is writing him.
For me
Cullen- Because yeah I have been wanting him (like so many others) since forever and I am so looking forward to just getting to know more about him, and seeing him just being him
Cole- Because I love the dynamic of appearing to be bad but struggling to be good despite what is expected
Dorian- For same reasons as Cole
Iron Bull- Because he is from a very (strict ?) people/belief/religion but is acting out of what is expected from that....I loved Sten because despite the Qunari indifference to other races he warms up and gets pretty close to the warden....I'd like to see that again with IB

Lol I have a thing for height differences too, its adorable. But I'm also bias because I'm 5"4 and my partner is 6"3. He calls me T-Rex arms as he's getting things off the high shelves for me I would head-cannon that into something but they don't have T-Rexs in Thedas.
I'm holding out hope that the "outside romance" is a Kelly Chambers / Sebastian type thing rather than one of the 8. As people on the romance thread have noted, it seems hard to believe that someone who isn't a companion or advisor will be able to have as much content as those who are. I'll put in my guess for Ser Michel and Briala as possible non-Inquisition romances.
