Nah, Cullen wouldn't cheat. I think that Amell was very special to him, but it was a long time ago. He probably remembers her fondly and thinks she was special, but he also realizes that it wasn't meant to be.

Cullen seems like a very goal oriented person to me, very focused on work. It would need to be one that is actually flirts with him, makes the first step to get him interested, pull his head out of the sand show him there is something else than work. So maybe Leliana or Vivienne, even though I don't know if he could handle Vivienne, lol. I don't feel like I don't know too much about Josephine, but I do think they would look cute together.

The only problem with shipping LIs with other characters is it generates dislike solely based on them sleeping with a person's LI, even if they weren't with their pc. I know quite a few people who really hate a character for sleeping with their preferred LI. And for some reason it only seems to be directed toward the female of the pairing if it's straight...idk why. No offense intended, there are good reasons why people may hate a character, I just hate to see it based on that alone.

 

Having said that, I would probably ship with Josephine, since Leliana was already shipped quite a bit with one of my other DA LIs.

Ideally they would make it where you the player can do things to get your companions to hook up or not.  That way if you want Cullen to be happy without you.  Let him find love with said other person.  Want him to be forever alone and sad without you?  Make shore him and that other girl never get the chance.

I didn't like Cassandra / Cullen even when I was sure she was going to be bi because I felt like she would reinforce his orthodox tendencies (I'll have to wait until the game comes out to figure out whether she's really all that orthodox or not, this was just based on hunches or whatever). But now that they're both straight, I'd really hate to see them hook up if not romanced, because it might feel like rubbing it in for the people who wanted to romance them with their PC but couldn't. Of course, Garrus and Tali were also gender restricted, so who knows.

 

(If I were to ship him with someone other than the PC or Amell it'd probably be Leliana, because her faith is important to her but she's not a hardliner, but that would never happen in game for a bizillion reasons, and for a bizillion other reasons I hope they just don't do the companion hookup thing this time unless neither is romanceable.)

I have no issues with the other characters getting together with other characters.    I have no desire for every character to want my character and it adds to the immersion.

 

I love Fenris and Isabela and I think some fans can be their own worst enemies when it comes to this pairing.  

 

I am happy Fenris can move on.    I get really sick of the 'Isabela is a ****' mentality so many of her haters have. Just because a woman is confident  with their sexuality does not mean they are a ****.  Society gives is mix messages when it comes to women and sexuality.

Fenris didn't dump Isabela because they weren't in relationship. It was just casual sex.

That would definitely prevent a potential outrage,from those who wouldn't like to see their preferred LI romantically involved with another character,in a playthrough where they decide not to romance them.
But personally I like the fact that they have "a mind of their own" and make choices for themselves,It give them more character than simply being the pc's pawns.

Still I must admit that I would prefer it,if it was the non romanceable companions/advisers that only got into a relationship with someone else even if it doesn't really bother me that much,but still with 8 characters being LIs out of 13,this is rather unlikely.

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.

 

So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

In DAO Cullen stated that Amell/Surana was the one thing he's always wanted but could never have . That's a little more than a crush.

 

Well, it's been well over 10 years so he better be over it. My Amell wasn't even interested in him... she's was ALL about Alistair. 

 

Same as my Inquisitor is (hopefully) ALL about Cullen... (Maker, I hope she's going to be all about Cullen!)
