I tweeted Cullen's writer and asked if there was some sort of story purpose or symbolism for the lion helmet, or if it was just purely for aesthetics.

I could only find the Lion's Claw armour on the wiki, but maybe you meant the Lion of Orlais, which is a shield? In that case, it was Emile Deveraux who used it.

Thank you!  I have a weakness for cute electrical rodents. (I say, nearly falling off of my bed because most of it is covered in Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu plushies. >.>)

OT but ugggghhh I can't sleep!!! It is soooooo hot in my room ;3; /tried everything/

 

Oh gosh the heat is awful. *flails around* I just want to have a huge proper thunderstorm so the heat stops for a while. It's unbearable! I have my fan as close as I can get it to me, and on full blast and it's still not enough. 

 

I also work in the kitchen of a busy restaurant during the day, and the "air conditioning" in the kitchen actually just vents air from the outside in, so...  however hot it is outside it's even hotter and even humid and steamy inside, because of all the cooking equipment and heat lamps and stuff.

Fun fact: Sometimes when I can't sleep, I pretend I'm orlesian royalty in a bed of the most expensive and luxurious calibur. Surprisingly helps.

Perhaps his lion helmet has something to do with his Surname after all then? What was the Surname of the family/person that wore the lion armour in Orlais? Maybe he's a descendant of that family and he became a Templar because in his youth he naively wanted to be a knight like the romantic tales people told of his relative.

Maybe Cullen owns Emprise du Lion? The info on the page I linked screams "CULLEN!!!" to me. Even if he doesn't own that land, I bet he has a big role in what will be happening there, because it looks like we won't take this area without a serious military campaign.

I'll swap you, it's 13 degrees celsuis (I think like 55F?) & windy here and I'm freezing with the heater on!

Think of us in the southern hemisphere going through a very cold snap after a warm autumn... it's bloody cold!

Maybe Cullen owns Emprise du Lion? The info on the page I linked screams "CULLEN!!!" to me. Even if he doesn't own that land, I bet he has a big role in what will be happening there, because it looks like we won't take this area without a serious military campaign.

Game world producer Liz Lehtonen added, "For anyone that has read Patrick Weekes's bookDragon Age: The Masked Empire, they will really enjoy the connection to this area. This is one of the key locations where you can strengthen the Inquisition, and there is a massive keep! Not only is it one of the most challenging structures to reach, but it's also the most difficult to take."

 

Hmm. Apparently it's harsh and icy there. Maybe that explains Cullen's fur... feathers... pauldrons... thing? Although I'm pretty sure he has them just so it looks like he has a lion's mane when he puts on the helmet.

Seriously though, have you tried using a spray bottle with water to spray yourself down a little while fans on you?

It's gets very hot & humid in summer here and before I had air con, thats how I'd help myself cool down enough to sleep. It worked brilliantly

Don't over do it though, cause you can get the sniffles as well

One thing we do in the kitchen when we get really desperate is soak some clean cloths in ice cold water and wrap them around our heads like bandit masks.   Would that help, maybe? Just don't do it for too long or you might get the sniffles.

I'm assuming they'll be pretty cheap, go get one and try it out. I did it for years in 40 degree plus heat & horrid humidity (like say 104F +, thank you temperature converter!)
