Well, it would depend on where I'd order the cake from, but it shouldn't be terribly expensive, even if it's a very large cake. But I could also just make it myself as well.  :) I like baking and decorating.

Oh! I know we've discussed what kind of ice cream flavour Cullen would be (I think it was caramel with praline? sweet yet salty?), but if Cullen were a scent or wore cologne, what do you think it would smell like? I ask because I just remembered that there's a person who used to make custom perfumes and colognes based on people's custom Shepards, Wardens and Hawkes, as well as a lot of the NPC's. I think they went on hiatus though, or I totally would have ordered the Garrus and the SSV Normandy one.

Found them! This is the person who made the custom scents and things!

Edit: D'oh! I'm friends with a bunch of chefs and cooks. I can just ask them for rec's on bakeries I could commission a Templar cake from!

Edit 2: Oh look, they actually made a scent for Cullen.

  • Knight-Captain Cullen: Gentleness cloaked in clean, sharp, regretful duty. Cypress, cajeput, neroli and sweet orange on a base of myrrh.

Oooh nice scent. Though they forgot some vanilla. Like in JPG Le Mal.

Oooh, you can make cakes? Awesome! We should probably move that discussion to the Cullen group and share our ideas with each other!

I really like the description they used. "Gentleness soaked in clean, sharp, regretful duty." I think it fits him very nicely.

Yeah, it's a private group I made for when the game comes out. It's so we can hide in there from any big spoilers... we also use it when the thread gets flash mobbed by trolls, lol.

Some modders restored it for the Cullen romance mod, lemme see if I can find the video... aha! Ok from 3:31:

*snip*

"When you knew me, I was an innocent. I wanted to be a Knight, but I never really thought about why we were needed. Now, my eyes have been opened. The naivete I once had is gone forever. But I welcome the change as long as it helps me better serve the Chantry. You are a mage and I, a Templar. It is my duty to oppose you and all you are."

OMG, poor Cullen. It's still painful to watch. There are dead decomposing bodies in his cage  And people wonder why he was so harsh in DAII act 1.

Ahh, I see. In that case, I would love to join!  :) Especially for when the game comes out. >.> Gotta hide from spoilers.

And I would love to discuss the potential thank-you-Bioware cake more as well!

Awful, isn't it. Looks like he and someone else both got trapped in there and one succumbed to temptation... or starved/killed himself. Omg, wouldn't it be awful it was Cullen that had to strike the poor guy/girl down.

... I suppose it could be worse. Could have been Amell/Surana rotting on the floor in there if your Warden hadn't been either of them!

I think it would have pushed him over the edge even more, if the other person had succumbed to temptation. Maybe it helped him hold onto his convictions and resist even longer? Seeing what happened firsthand what would happen if he succumbed to temptation, I mean. Either way, how awful.  :(

What happens to Amell/Surana if Duncan doesn't recruit them? Do they get sent to Aeonar or made Tranquil for helping Jowan? :o Do they get killed in the tower when it's overrun? I've only ever played a Cousland, so I have no idea. >.>

I would love to join this group to if possible?

I was thinking I would have to avoid the forums completely once the game came out so not to spoil it

We never see them but we know that each potential protagonist existed within their own right. So maybe Amell got sent to Aeonar and Surana became an abomination or something? Hard to say.

Video just made me think of the most horrible things. Like, you know, there is no place to pee there, and I don't think blood mages gave them anything to eat or drink... I'm going to go and rescue him tonight, right after Lothering. How did he even survive, poor boy? :(

Awesome, thank you for both the invite and making the thread! I've added the thread to my watch list so I can keep up with any suggestions.  :)

:( I just want to give him a hug and a bunch of puppies and kittens and be like, "Oh no it's okay Cullen you're okay now shhhh" *sobbing*

He survived because he's a BAMF!

It's no wonder he was balls-to-the-wall hardlined when we meet him in DA2 though! I wonder if his storyline will deal with any PTSD as it seems like Iron Bull's story arc will feature it heavily. That's something I'm concerned about actually, that he's suddenly gonna be doing great and his head mess surrounding traumatic experiences suddenly healed.

It just hurts to see him like that. He's crying there, poor thing. I want a mod to give him hugs after we rescue him. And after he takes a bath.

He obviously got better while he was in Kirkwall. But I agree, I hope they didn't ignore that experience, and it will eventually come back to bite us in the ass when we least expect it.

Thanks LolaLei :)

I was seriously thinking about removing myself completely from all forums when the game came out especially since I have to wait a few extra days :)

I think like most of us here, I want to be able to discover the game, relationships (not just Cullen), friendships etc at my own pace and in my own way.

It also makes it so much more enjoyable not knowing what is coming and how things turn out. I usually am a "read the back of the book first" type person but I really REALLY don't want to do anything like that with DAI

I was just having a proper read through his interview since it occurred to me that I'd only skim-read it. This sounds promising:

"Cullen spent more than half of his life in service to the templars. He's gone through a lot over that time. He survived what happened to the Circle Tower in Dragon Age: Origins, then watched Kirkwall fall to chaos in Dragon Age II. In Inquisition, the sky's torn open, demons are running loose, there's war… things aren't exactly looking up."

Sounds like things haven't improved for him at all since DA2, LOL!

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid spoiling myself too much... which is gonna be difficult whilst trying to gather information for my DAI videos. I just hope there won't be a script leak!

No...  When I found out he was gonna be singing I went and tried to find vids of Greg Ellis singing.  :D SO worth it. Oh gosh, I am so looking forward to it.

My headcanon is that my Quizzy hears him singing softly to himself when he thinks he's alone one day and that's when she first starts to fall a little bit in love with him. I had already headcanoned that my Quizzy was a bard (in both senses) before I found out Cullen is going to sing, so music is extremely important to her.  ^_^ I'm so excited to hear him sing!
