If you had to sacrifice Cullen to save Thedas, would you do it?

 

It depends on the situation but I think I would. I talked Alistair into marrying Arona because it was the best for the country. I tend to play more or less selfless characters so I could imagine that my Quizzy might even sacrifice Cullen. But Maker, I really hope it doesn't come to that. What a horrible thought.

I've wondered this, but I don't think it's really going to be a problem. It might come up, but it seems like the Inquisition is more like a bunch of unconnected people who are working together, but with no strict chain of command. I mean, companions can leave whenever they get mad at the Inquisitor--that hardly sounds like an official command-type station. Perhaps they will bring it up, but it's obviously not a big deal--Josephine, Cullen, and Cassandra are all LI, and those are like three of the four starting pillars of the Inquisition.

yes, I totally agree with that. I think the hierachy isn't as important as it would be in the real military. I, too, see the inquisition more as a bunch of people who have the same goal.

 

 

So, no signs of the second part of the demo yet?

Oh, man, as someone who takes a great interest in writing, I would love to go there. I think the panel will most likely be spoilerfree and that they will rather focus on all the thoughts behind the romances. I would love to hear that. So, if anybody could get their hands on a recording, it would be really great! 

 

On a side note, doesn't it sound good that the opening ceremony will take place in the ballroom ?

So I’ve seen everyone was talking about Cullens name and background and I kinda missed it. 

 

But I was thinking what if Cullens already from a military background?

I mean, what if his father/mother was a Templar and they had married someone with means to support themselves outside of their marriage.

Like Aveline and Ser Wesley. Maybe the reason they can't tell us his last name is because one of his parents is a Templar we've already come across.

He could have joined to follow in their footsteps?

I don't think anything can really be discounted at this point him having a last name opens up his background to numerous possibilities. You have a good theory though and it would be interesting if Cullens father was say, a knight commander that had broken from the chantry. Though to be honest I prefer him to be a farm boy that had dreams of grandeur as a noble knight. I think his life is full of enough angst as it is and would like there to have been a happier time in his life that isnt taken away from him and turned into another things that sucks for him - I couldn't think of a better word than sucks, sorry

Oh I kinda like the idea that he's a regular person that just found a calling  as well.

This one just kinda pop into my head when I was reading other peoples theories. I was actually thinking more along the lines of his father/ mother being a regular Templar that was considered  one of the "good" ones. Like Ser Carver that had helped the Hawkes escape the circle in Kirkwall.  So his parents where more of an inspiration then a source of angst for him. I mean he has well enough angst in his life. 

 

Oh and Sucks is totally an acceptable word he has had so much bad stuff that sucks for him.

Lol I have had about 6 hours sleep over the past two days so my brain is becoming slow

Ah I get ya. Out of curiosity, what are the vows that Templars take anyway? We know they can marry -Aveline and Wesley?? Work brain, work- but can they have a family? There was that one Templar in DAO during broken circle that was in the room with the desire demon that glamoured him to believe he had family but I can't remember if it was because it was against their vows to spawn mini templars or if it was simply because his duty as a Templar left no time for it...

Now I'm starting think its the latter, there isnt much of an opportunity for a Templar to have a family because of the life they lead.
