Lol I have had about 6 hours sleep over the past two days so my brain is becoming slow

Ah I get ya. Out of curiosity, what are the vows that Templars take anyway? We know they can marry -Aveline and Wesley?? Work brain, work- but can they have a family? There was that one Templar in DAO during broken circle that was in the room with the desire demon that glamoured him to believe he had family but I can't remember if it was because it was against their vows to spawn mini templars or if it was simply because his duty as a Templar left no time for it...

Now I'm starting think its the latter, there isnt much of an opportunity for a Templar to have a family because of the life they lead.

Between Sebastian and Leliana, i think there's different "levels" of vows. Like, Seb's vows expired, for lack of a better term, and he was debating on if he wanted to renew them, or not. So maybe Templars have the same options?

Oh thats right, he did too. What the heck are their vows then? Maybe they just consist of their loyalty to the maker and chantry as well as what their responsibilities and rules within the circle are and nothing to do with their personal lives.

I think in Origins it was implied that there was a life time vow and that would explain the other Templar with the desire demon. Then when dragon age 2 came out they kinda retconed it ( I'm not 100% on that).

I also had no Idea that Sebs vows expired! I thought that his ones where for life. Maybe I should reconsider that romance on my next playthrough.

Yeah, Sebastian is in the Chantry, talking to the lady there, and she's telling him that he needs to decide if he wants to renew his vows as a brother of the faith or not.

You know I'm not totally sure what their vows are. I'd say there's a set of vows they all take, then the more devout Templars take extra ones. So most just have to be discrete and then go through some serious red tape to get married.

Maybe we'll get to ask Cullen to explain it more in DAI.
