I honestly don't see how Cullen would be a better option. Even with him charging in with a mini army it could go all kinds of wrong.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I think I heard Alexius say something like, "Where are your assassin's now!?!" during the battle (unless that was Dorian, but I don't think so. I'll have to go back and listen some more.) So I don't think we'd be sending whichever advisor in there alone in this case. 
 
So maybe, if you send Leliana, she takes a few assassin's with her, but they get caught and killed, and she is subsequently tortured. If you send Josephine, maybe she brings a few other diplomats with her to broker an agreement? (Although I don't think that would end well... or maybe she's not an option in this case? Could be possible). And if you send Cullen, then he goes in with his forces (templars? warriors? a mix of both?), and he ends up being the best choice in this situation. Or maybe he also gets captured and tortured. Who knows?

I was hoping that comment was more of a reflection of that Inquisitor's organisation. Maybe it had more espionage keeps than others so it's become known as that sort of group.

Yep! Alexius talks about how he knew he couldn't destroy the Inquisitor so easily too.

 

...While being an utter creep and calling the Inquisitor his precious thing and stuff. Brr.

I think it's pretty heavily implied that at the very least, it's a choice whether you do that mission at all. Otherwise the actions and consequences thing in context of sending Leliana loses some clout. It's hard to imagine to that this mission is particular would be suited to Leliana only, imo. Of what we've seen, the place is a fortress with mostly demons in it. You can't really spy or assassinate demons like you can people.

My favourite part, (channeling Dora the Explorer there), was when some of the projectiles seemed to miss Alexius because of the stone pillars.

Don't mind me, just drooling over the new video @_@ I didn't realize I could be more excited for this game than I was last week. 

One thing I loved, and it's just a small detail, when Iron Bull was attacking a demon near a pillar the pillar appeared to become scratched/damaged. I know it faded rather quickly but I love that the environment isn't just a stage, it's like a real place.

Hmm. I think that would be a really cool feature, actually. I've been trying to make out the other things he says during the battle, besides the whole "Elder One" thing, since I know he says something about the Inquisition as well. Although I'm dying to know about the "Elder One". (Aren't we all?  )

 

But a part of the reason why I think that Leliana didn't go in alone is because at 0:36, her torturer says, "There's no use to this defiance little bird! There's no one left for you to protect." Perhaps implying that the other people who came with her were also captured and killed when she wouldn't talk?

 

Unless of course, he meant the Inquisitor, since it's clear that some absolute s**t went down before we managed to get there. o.O

I am sooo with you. I am NOT having him tortured by mages again. Sorry Leilana, but if it's him or you being tortured, it will be you. Unless sending her means everyone dies or some bad bad things happen that really negatively impact the rest of the game. In that case, I want a 100 pounds of chocolate with my pre-order to numb my aching feels. Please don't make me have Cullen tortured again

 

PS Am I the only one who was shouting throughout the vid, forgot how to breath, then teared up at the end?
