Ericander: The problem is that we're running the risk of getting shut down now we're in the main forums. Squeeing 'n' the like is fine but I think we all need to tone down the crazy a bit when it comes to the influx of repetitive gifs and jokes. Admittedly, I too am uncomfortable with the whole tweeting GE silly stuff under representation of the Cullen thread as a collective, but if you wanna tweet him as yourself then that's totally your prerogative.
We're gonna attract trolls regardless, but I'd say at the moment we're not helping ourselves. This isn't a pop at any one individual, so don't feel like you're being singled out, it's just that myself (and some of the others) are concerned that we'll loose the threads and end up getting even more trouble from haters targeting the fandom itself.
Is posting things meant to insight laughter/enjoyment in response to on-topic discussion grounds for thread punishment? I want to try to stay a thread with all kinds of posts, including funny ones, but within the rules.
mi think someone really gives "trolls" so much food then someone post mostly some "Justin Beaber style" pictures/fanart with Сullen and talk than they want to romance him and bla bla mostly connected with his appearance rather then say somethink real

If people want to post pictures and often very obvious joke photoshops of Cullen then they should be able to without trolls coming in because somehow the fans are "asking for it"by appreciating his appearance. If they want to talk about his appearance for pages, that's just fine. This IS a video game character, after all. We're not talking about a real person.
Yep so I was trying to type something up about the situation, and Samara totally nailed it. Can you just speak for me from now on for everyday stuff? I got some phone calls I have to make to relatives if you're not busy tomorrow, noon works for me ![]()

Well in that case you could ask something related to character and not discuss about Cullen's fans and speculate that they like him just because his appearance. I already answered to your previous question though I'd need more clarification to give better answer since I don't understand why you see his character so negatively.
Confession time: I like the idea of tweeting Greg Ellis or a dev but likely never will, because I have realized I have nothing to say that would interest them. ![]()

Agreed. There is more than once in my short time of being here that I have discussed other reasons as opposed to my joke posts. In fact, there are plenty of discussions on here that do not include pics/fanart of a half naked Cullen. Just take the time to read the posts!

Don't feel bad, I could never find the courage to do so, myself. And I have so many questions for him pertaining to acting etc. 'cause my best friend is studying to go into tv/radio/film and I worry about how she will fair in such a career. Some insight from someone who is actually in the business would help quell my worries. Alas.....
Ok. These are just MY thoughts...
Eric that wasn't directed at any one person but a general sentiment about not getting out of hand. We all have fun. It's not all serious business in here. We do get silly. A point was made about your tweet because it seemed to speak for the fandom as a whole and we have always stressed amidst each other that that is something none of us does unless a consensus is reached. I myself have had this happen and it was fair not to make the post I wished until I edited it to sound less like I was speaking for all fans of Cullen because it was MY opinion.
No one is attacking anyone here. Someone expressed how the silliness is making them feel and others share that feeling. There's nothing wrong with this. It'd be different if people outright attacked another person. No one insulted anyone or made a demand. They stated how they felt. Are they not allowed to do so? All they're asking for is that a little more separation between individuals and the Cullen fandom as a whole, be maintained.
And the mention of how long some of us have been here isn't meant as a competition. It is stated in terms of the fandom working for a while to challenge and change people's minds about us being "rabid housewives". We knew the new info release could bring greater scrutiny and it has. I, for one, want us to be taken seriously as well as fun, rather than just whacked. And the silliness of late seems to be only fanning the haters' flames. Again, it's not being said we have to be all serious in here but to find a balance and to maintain a distinction between individual tangents and official group representation. That's all.
The reason we bother - or *I* think we bother is so that we can engage in all of BSN without being derided. Many here don't enjoy BSN like we might wish because our input on other threads, if it even WHIFFS of Cullen, tends to be marginalized and dismissed and derided. It makes it hard to enjoy the forums when you feel you can't interject something into a topic for fear of being verbally torn apart.
If you feel you're being attacked or treated unfairly, I sincerely apologize as that wasn't the intention. As I said, your tweet was made an example of as the kind of blurring of the line between one person and the whole group - not that you can't do what you want and be silly. I do agree with those posts but hurting others wasn't the point of them. It was an expression for how some feel. The only other option was to do nothing and/or leave the fandom.
So, all that said, I hope you stick around.
Thank you. Varieties of different feelings have been noted, and will be taken into consideration for the future. I think that opinions towards cullen fans will be hard to change by our own accord. Yes there is some effort to be put in to not attack others and stay respectful, but expression is also important. I believe that his appearance in Inquisition will change things for the better, given that many forum users find it odd that we have passion for a character who was not a follower or main leading non-follower. In terms of thread "health", (I guess that's a good name for non-shutting-down-ness) we all might could be mindful about including variety, while keeping running jokes at the same time.

Lol! Sure. Do you mind if I use a dodgy English accent?

I believe Allan summarized that one quite nicely a few pages back. ![]()
My twitter is my own personal stalking device. Never sent an actual tweet from it.

I created a twitter......used it twice for my best friend. Never touched it again.

I guess I'm a very hands-on person. I like talking to people face to face. I even hate talking on the phone (Strange b/c I'm female). Idk, I'm a bit old fashioned as well. I know, strange. ^^'
