Oh a more serious note regarding Cullen...

 

So I'm playing DA2 right now, and just spoke to him in Act 2 (for the first time, I've played this game 10000 times and never spoken to him where not required) I hear so many people say he really pissed them off in DA2. I really don't understand. I tend to play pro-mage characters myself, though this one is pro-templar. He's just doing his duty, but you can already tell he's having doubts about Meredith. He's a templar, he has had certain beliefs drilled into him, no doubt.

 

Some of the other pro-templar characters in this game are far worse. Why did he "****** them off" in DA2? 

 

Edit: and why the heck did it blank out one of my "pissed" but not the other? O_o

He has a comment about mages not being "people like you and I" which due to rushed development got said to the mages too. Some people got so hung up on it they decided to hate him forever *shrugs* different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yeah, but Fenris is a companion and thus people have been able to flesh out his character more where as Cullen is mostly and enigma to them. People often hate what they don't understand xD

Is that one comment enough for people to hate him? I just....this is actually enough for me to say "wait maybe this guy has a good reason too!"

 

Then again I gave up understanding this fandom a long time ago.

I think it's because people had the option to kill Fenris or not recruit him if they didn't like him. There's nothing they can do about Cullen. Apparently some of the epilogues of DA:O paint Cullen as a crazy mage-killer too, and some people fixate on that as well.

I've a sudden random pondering... which I'm sure has probably been brought up before... but anyways... If Thedas was real and it was modern times, what job do you think Cullen would have? I know cop seems obvious but I keep seeing him as a martial arts instructor.
