Maybe it is the angry/jerk answer. The "I don't care about any of you. Let's finish this so I can get out of here." response.

Maybe! I'm not about to say it doesn't have a mundane explanation, of course.

It sounds like, at the very least, there might be some kind of possible travelling through that rift.

The one thing I hated about origins was the fade part where you have to "wake" everyone in your party up within the fade and then kill the sloth(?) demon when in the circle tower.... I dislike it muchly

I think there are going to be so many ways that whole situation can be handled and some of it may not even come about, or you could even end up not going there--all depending on previous choices I'm guessing from what Cameron Lee said:

"Then decisions that you’re making in the story -- like what you saw today -- can have a flow-on effect, both through the rest of the story beats as you go through, the ending, and what content you see.

So it’s really very complex, about how much control the players have over the types of content. And as I was saying before, that whole demo you saw, in the last half of it, when you’re fighting with Alexius and Felix, not all the players are going to see that, because going into that area is the result of a branching choice in the game. So you may have picked another area and you wouldn’t be going into that castle at all, you’d be going somewhere else entirely.

There’s whole sections of the game that are like that, that we branch off entirely. You can go to Red Cliff Village, and see the consequences of you picking the other decision. So we’ve made sure that any exclusive content, you can still see the flip side of the consequences as well."

I personally love the Fade. I like puzzle segments/unusual happenings in games, though.

I love the Fade puzzles too. That's one of my favorite part of the game.

Yeah, it does look like it. Doesn't mean I can't speculate! And some of the moments in that scene, at least in the context they're presented, seem incredibly curious. Maybe it is just straight forward and no big deal, I'm not discounting that, either, but it's fun to toss out ideas here and there.

We having nothing else to do but speculate until the game comes out.

I wasn't trying to discourage you from speculation, I do it all the time  ^_^ I just wasn't sure if people had seen that yet.

Continue your speculating lol

I think we should send Cullen in  bad ass Templar that he is.

EDIT: "wasn't" not "was" gah I suck lol

That demo scared the beejezus out of me by the way, but it made somethings clear.

I know these three things for certain after the demos.

1: I will die a lot. I mean a whole lot. Like ridiculous amounts. More than Arishok with a rogue a lot.

2: Cullen shall be mine. I don't care if I have to dance the Remigold, naked, under a full moon. That boy will be with my Quizzy.

3: I will sob like a baby. Ugly, Blair Witch Project sobbing. And frequently. Either because of the story or because I mucked it up so bad someone died and I have to go back and try to fix my mistake or start all over.

I really wish the pre-order came with chocolate and tissues. I'm going to need them.

As crazy as it sounds, I'm wondering if Josephine isn't the best option. It seems like Alexius can be talked down, but Leliana, with her (completely understandable) rage, messed that up.

So, I was watching the demo again and "The Elder One" definitely sounds like a dragon... or maybe he/she summoned a dragon to the are to cause trouble? I'm so curious!

I can't wait to see what Josephine can do. I think I would be tossing up between her and Cullen, definitely.

It's cheaper than therapy  Which I will need if even one of the bittersweet, has to happen because *insert reason*, epic story things I think will happen, happens. There is one in particular I just have a bad, bad feeling about. Well two and both depress me like no tomorrow, but make total sense. My feels will be broken.

See, on the one hand I kinda wanna see Cullen in Leliana's place in that quest. I wanna see what his reaction is, how he handles it and what his reaction to seeing the Inquisitor (especially if you're pursuing a romance with him) is like. But on the other hand, I'm concerned that it would undo some of the progress he's made into not judging mages so heavily.

In theory it shouldn't make too much of a difference because he's seen both sides of the coin. He knows some mages are corrupt and dangerous, in the same way that some non-mages are corrupt and dangerous, but it's still a concern. Mind you, it sounds like the result of that quest was down to poor planning on the Inquisitor's part, so that torture scene might not even happen if we go in there prepared.

I think this may be the worst possible situation. For example, the Inquisitor sided with the templars, sent assassins after Alexius, pissed off wrong people, etc. The alternative may be siding with the mages, sending Cullen to "make pease" with the templars (like "You have one hour to surrender, then we will storm your Therinfal Redoubt, and hang everybody!"), and if you don't give Cullen enough men, he end up here:

TR_04_en.jpg

And we have to go and rescue him, instead of Leliana.

But if we have enough men for him, he wins, and we restore the peace in the region :)

All those eyes on the wall a creepin' me out, man.

Personally, I'm more curious about whether or not we can talk Alexius down. That amulet, after all, seems to be plot relevant... at least when it comes to this part of the plot, and I imagine Alexius and Dorian, together, can do what has to be done in far less time than the hour Dorian needs, which could save Iron Bull, Sera and Leliana/whoever is there in her place if it works out like that?

I'm kind of having a feeling that Cullen -mentally wise- maybe put a lot of what happened to him at Kinloch, past him. I think he may actually be quite mentally strong and be able to handle a situation like this because there is really nothing left that will surprise him anymore. Iron Bulls story is heavy laced with PTSD, so I was thinking that maybe we won't have to worry about Cullen so much. I can't see them doing the PTSD for two NPCs. *shrugs* I guess I'm just really confident in his ability to just do what needs to be done.

That's an interesting thought. Perhaps talking him down would indeed persuade him to help us instead of attacking. I wanna know where that portal leads? Does it take us into the Fade? Will it spit us out somewhere else in Thedas? Take us back in time??
