Just noticed an interesting thing - Cullen has a DAO version of templar insignia on his gauntlets. Not the one templars use on Therinfal Redoubt screenshots. I wonder if it means anything.

Does anyone think we'll get any more trailers with the other voices for the inquisitor?  This is my first time stalking following a game before its release date, so other than spoilers I have no idea what to expect in the upcoming months

Yeah, I noticed that too. On his chest plate it looks like he's removed the Templar insignia from it too, if you look at the discoloration in the center it's the shape of the sword of mercy. Looks as though he decided to re-purpose his old armour, rather than buying a new set. I dare say there's some sentimentality behind it too, I think he'll always be a Templar at heart... I guess that's to be expected when he's spent over half his life in the Order.

I'm really hoping they might show us a recruitment quest or two. They did it for DA2 with Isabela's and the first half of Fenris'. They probably chose these two since they could easily be missed otherwise. And I'm getting increasingly paranoid since they said we might miss recruiting some companions.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be doing every quest till I find them all.  I missed Leliana completely in my first PT of Origins.  I thought she was DLC or something  but given the fact I'll be rushing home on the Friday to play this, then only have till Sunday evening at the latest to play I'm going to be tearing my hair out wondering what happens next.  Curse your 50 hours (at least) of gameplay Bioware! (though I do love a good, long story, or stories  )

So thinking about Cullen's armour again, anyone have any idea what those two hook things on the chest are for?  I thought it was for the helment or something, but the picture with his helmet on shows that it goes no where near it.

Apparently I'm dead to you >.> haha, just kidding, different opinions and all that    I really liked Anders as well, though I half wished they used the original face they were going to use for him in Act three.  It looked absolutely horrible and I'm pretty sure I would have killed him out of pity because of it I can't find it anywhere now sadly.  Thanks for posting

Ditto, though I also plan to follow the guide to a T as to not f*ck anything up   Meeting the advisers will probably be something more formal, like Cassandra bringing them in to introduce to us once we are dubbed the Inquisitor, or hell maybe she even turns to them to figure out what to do with you once you walk out of the Fade. 

 

I can see some of the companions coming off as completely random, like Sera getting into a bar brawl or running across Iron Bull f*cking up some baddies on the road.

Definitely. Though for me that will also extend to any and all side quests I get in case some are sneakily hidden like Fenris' Bait and Switch.

But yeah, it was really sad.  To relate this to something slightly more on topic though, I like the idea of Cullen somehow getting a hold of Ander's manifesto (like when they raid his place) and reading it and agreeing with some of the stuff it says.  I saw someone else who liked the idea on tumblr as well haha.

His breastplate seems to be made of 3 pieces, and these rivets just hold them together. It doesn't look like any templar armor. They usually have the sword of mercy engraved on them.

There are 2... err, strings (?) that seem to hold the furry collar in place. And 2 straps that either attach his gorget to his breastplate (he wears his gorget over his breastplate, probably for the same reasons American superheroes wear their briefs over their pants?), or these straps prevent his... err, tunic? Red curtain thing? That stuff he wears over the breastplate - from flying into his face when he fights. His armor is shockingly impractical, which strangely contradicts with the statement that he's a practical man

 

Regarding removing the family crest from your armor. I believe that would be replacing a fancy surcoat with the emblem by a simple surcoat without it. Because you can't just pull the rivets out of your breastplate, detach something from it, and assemble the thing back again. Unless you want your armor to fall into pieces in the middle of a fight.

That's what I mean. It's just a theory but it looks like he may have removed the sword of mercy insignia from the breastplate, in The Masked Empire novel the warriors were always removing the insignia from their breastplates for various reasons, which I think is what Cullen has done to his.

 

However, looking at the discoloration up close it seems to be in the pattern of the Inquisition symbol... meh, I dunno.

I was hoping DA:I was released during my spring school holidays so I don't have to, you know work?!, and just sit at home in my pjs playing... but spring school holidays finish on the 6th Oct... so close!!! *sigh* I dunno if I can take a day off just after I go back... can I?

I'm sure it would be fine to take the time off, just explain that you have a world to save and that your people need you.

It's not always about practicality. His armor is very distinctive, which would have an advantage on the battlefield of encouraging morale. If you can see your leader, recognize him instantly, and see him fighting beside you...man, that's some heady stuff, right there. Encourages loyalty, comraderie, and the love of your soldiers.
