There are 2... err, strings (?) that seem to hold the furry collar in place. And 2 straps that either attach his gorget to his breastplate (he wears his gorget over his breastplate, probably for the same reasons American superheroes wear their briefs over their pants?), or these straps prevent his... err, tunic? Red curtain thing? That stuff he wears over the breastplate - from flying into his face when he fights. His armor is shockingly impractical, which strangely contradicts with the statement that he's a practical man
Hmm, I think the straps go underneath the red...jacket-thing, so probably to attach the two bits together. Oh dear, it looks so stylish, but it confuses me ![]()
It's not always about practicality. His armor is very distinctive, which would have an advantage on the battlefield of encouraging morale. If you can see your leader, recognize him instantly, and see him fighting beside you...man, that's some heady stuff, right there. Encourages loyalty, comraderie, and the love of your soldiers.
