So I think it is between these three and Blackwall is out.

 

Why?

Is it just race gated or class gated...She could be just for mages but then that cuts an awful out.

Could be Varric, didn't he say he wasn't into humans? I know he was off limits because of Bianca before, but 10+ years is a long time, especially if he has no contact with her. But I am thinking more Solas, only one elf romance and for females only? That gives male characters mainly human LI's and no elves...I can't see that happening.

I believe that they've said no class gating.

As much as I want him to be an LI, I can get behind this idea as well

 

As Jtav said, he looks to be more of the mentor type so I think our quizzys can have a really close, in-depth relationship with him rather than a romantic one. But we won't know until we know

Either way, the let downs are so real right now...

I imagine we'll meet some companions in specific locations, but I suspect he may seek us out at whatever Inquisition keep we happen to be at the time (since he has a strong sense of duty and seems like a man of action over idleness).

Nah - after the Anders thing, I reckon that we'll probably have to initiate the romances in case someone's precious little feelings are hurt by the advances of an NPC.

I'm starting to wonder if the LIs aren't going to be split evenly between genders. The devs have mentioned that LI options for various Inquisitors aren't going to be balanced. Combine that with the comment about how some companions just aren't interested...I think we may end up with a 5/3 split. The only companion that screams "Not Interested" to me is Vivienne. Then we could get a race-gated Varric & Solas (which would make me a very, very happy panda).

Apparently Anders hits on male Hawke and gives you rivalry points if you aren't interested.  It didn't go down too well with some vocal players.

A lot of straight dudes freaked out that a guy was hitting on him. Never mind that hardly anyone complained when the women NPCs have done the same in the past. *grumblegrumble* I'm still bitter about Anders getting unnecessarily **** on for that.

Oh yeah definitely, he would much rather be in the thick of everything than twiddling his thumbs waiting to be asked to join us I think and that would probably have a lot to do with how far along he is with the taint--failing at using the right phrase for this. If he knows he is on his last stretch then I see him seeking us out so he can use the last of his time for something worthy rather than going to the deep roads.

I don't know why, since so many got butthurt over Anders hitting on their M!Hawke, they don't do something like let the pc initiate the first flirt, then afterwards the character can persue. I like being chased a bit too.

 

Don't even get me started on that, man. Such a ridiculous reason to hate a character.

Hah, I never knew that. When it comes down to it, it is just a game so I don't know why people made such a hype about it. And another thing, they just need to get over themselves because there are worse things than having someone you're not interested in hitting on you.

 

I would be more weary with the whole "bathe in blood thing" Which I was by the way. I never continued with the romance because of it.

I think people were more upset that you received rivalry points rather then just being hit on.  There was no neutral option for Anders.  There should have been an easy out instead you were presented with two love options and one heartbreak.
