No, that was recanted. All 8 "proper" romances are among our companions and advisors

Cameron meant that there was one particular character outside of the actual romances you could be flirty with. But there are 8 fully fledged romances, all of whom are companions or advisors, and two of whom are race-gated. Unless I've gotten something horribly wrong and have been very confused these past few days, which honestly, isn't unlikely.

I think I'm going to be going for an Arabic name like Sahar--which means dawn--for my female qunari

 

My female Qunari Inquisitor will be named Adaris. It's from Stargate Atlantis. A ship of the Ancients was caught in a solar flare and it was named Adaris.

Dev's have said no romances outside of companions or advisors (Other than casual flirting), so Dagna unfortunately can't be. 

 

Actually, the devs indicated there would be one romance who wasn't a companion or an adviser during the Raptr Q&A.  At least according to LadyAshe's wrap-up of the thing.  So there are 8 possible romances, 2 of which would be race-gated and one would be with a non-comp/adviser.  With 6 now revealed and none of those race-gated -- that means the last 2 romances are race-gated. 

 

Now, Varric has indicated in the past he's not inclined to non-dwarven romances, so I'm going out on a limb and assume he's one of the last 2 romances.  Would make for an awesome reveal, too.  Ah, that chest hair, lol!

 

That leaves one more.  I'm only going to make a guess and say my vote is on Dagna.  Who isn't a companion or an advisor.  But would also be a likely race-gated romance.  So that's my thought process.

Sinmara for me Qunari Female Rogue dating Iron Bull. Qunari remind me of Vikings, so Viking mythology names it is.

Don't know what to name my male Qunari warrior with Dorian or my Elf (mage probably) that I haven't decided on their romance yet

This is a bit of a misconception. There is at least one character who is not a companion or an advisor whom you can flirt with. When Cameron said that there were eight romances, he was referring to eight romances within the companions and advisors.

 

So, rejoice or not as you see fit.

Literally it's an entire thread of raging about character sexualities and name blaming Bioware for misrepresenting gays/bis/straight communities and catering to one over the other. It. Doesn't. End!!!

 

Wow... people have really got to let it go and if they find the game so offensive maybe they shouldn't be playing it. I think BioWare have done a really good job of trying to create some equality and giving the characters a bit more depth. Ovbiously it's not going to be perfect but hey, they are trying. They are doing far more than any other game franchise to include equality and I give them two big freaking thumbs up for being AWESOME!
