I hate to think of him being cut for shallow reasons, because he was the only other male I found attractive

 

But seriously, I don't think he is a rogue, unless it's a blatant attempt to trick us, since he has appeared as a S&S warrior both in game play footage and the armor demo on the BioWare blog.

 

But if he's dropped, and that means Cullen's a companion, it's a sad, sad sacrifice I'm reluctantly ready to make.

The fact that he appeared in concept pics surrounded by other companions (confirmed and potential) or solo makes me think he's rather in. This also makes him less likely a temporary follower. Dunno what to think. I just hope that we'll magically have equal split with 4 warriors on board

I think more body types in general would be very welcome. Seeing Mama Leandra with the same body as any of the young fit women in the game was just weird.

Quite true. If we believe Cullen as an NPC would be immensely important to the plot, then any character who replaces Cullen as NPC would have be just as vital.

 

(Meaning, if Cullen is a companion and the Grey Warden is an NPC, then NPC Grey Warden must be as important as I believe Cullen would be. Non-optional, have to talk to him, cannot get rid of him. This fits with some of the artwork, although that scene in the bar makes it iffy.)

Heh, for me it is very much a company thing since the folk that hang around Cullen's threads are super fun and knowledgeable. So as much as Cullen's charms go I would not stick around boring and repetitive lot

Right, I mean, it seems to me that ML did not specifically say, "There will be three members of each class on your team." To me that is significant, and I await the lovely Ashe's ability to ask them about this and clarify for us.

 

As much as I would love further clarification (signed, in triplicate, written with blood) I feel kinda bad that she has to ask.

The most popular motto in every Cullen thread is "Came for Cullen stayed for the company"so yeah, I think this sums it up...

Oh I meant grey warden guy, I guess I should make it clearer :] As for Cullen, we def did not see him as a companion. It is just my choice to ignore the facts and stick with him being one. No idea why I feel quite comfy with it.

It just hit me how Cullen is going to look in FB3 engine. All the other companions look amazing so I'm really excited to see how he looks

I only ventured into Cullen bashing thread out of sheer curiosity and afterwards followed into dark corners of the da2 forum, to find the lovely folk that defended him. And then, their enthusiasm was quite contagious, so here I am. Although admittedly I liked Cullen in dao and da2 as a character to begin with.
